Considering how hard it was to find SOny readers to buy at various times, it seems that Sony is sellnig every reader it can build. So why waste money advertising? |

When they are in the Sony Style shop, I can have a look and tell you firsthand about the fonts.

This is good for us since we do not own a laptop and it is not likely in the near future. I just built our home computers this spring and we love them but when I looked into laptops, I found them to still be too expensive so desktops were the way to go for us.

Supposedly Sony is going to have a bookstore in Australia later this year.

We have both a kobo and a sony and they both seem to be working well and I find the kobo to be a nice little reader. My mil though had an issue with her kobo the other day and I had to walk her through resetting it. (actually her dh had reset it accidentally). I do love how the sony just works though. I love mine.

Has anyone spotted any reason why an owner (read: me) of the 950 might want to move from the 950 to this new reader?
Thanks! |

I'm a happy 650 owner and don't see any reason to switch to T1.
It's cheaper but i already bought the more expensive 650. It has WLAN but i never missed it. "Library access" ? I can already read book lend from our public library. What's the deal ? It would be a perfect fit if not already kicked out by 650. |

Moreover, while realizing the reader would be lighter weight, I am not enamored with the plastic casing. I really like the metal casing of my 950 (and 505). I might consider getting the T1 to replace my wife's 505 even though (knock on wood) it is still serving her very well. |

Even if you do travel with a laptop, it's probably going to be faster and easier to just access the library directly from the PRS-T1 instead of whipping out your laptop from your luggage and waiting for it to boot/resume from hibernate.
Some libraries in the US now have e-media sections where you can borrow ebooks and audio books. |

Possibly if you don't care for the Sony fonts and don't remove DRM, then the ability to change fonts might be a reason. I'm really happy with my 950 because it already has Wi-fi, and I prefer the 7" inch screen. It is always difficult to resist a new gadget though!
