I think I heard in the video that it will last 5 weeks if you only read 30 pages a day!

Pfft, I read hundreds of pages a day If I start on a Monday with a full charge, I will have half a charge left by Wednesday.

So it's now safe to assume they are dropping the 5" and 7" models?

I can't wait for the picture of the limited edition Harry Potter model! Same price as the other, plus a free book. They will be gone in minutes, I think.

I wonder if it will even look different. It the exact same price as the regular versions. They are giving you a free $10 book. So I doubt anything else will come with it or it will look any different. We shall see though.

I suspect strongly that you are right. My girlfriend was really looking forward to a themed reader and I think she's going to be sorely disappointed soon. One free book isn't worth limiting oneself to a specific colour either.

As long as the plastic bezels on these readers are not glossy like they are in the (largely computer generated/touched?) product shots, I think this new reader looks the bees knees.

EDIT: Just watched the YouTube video posted in the specs thread. The bezel doesn't look glossy at all. Will be interesting to see how it comes with a reading light shined on it though. Video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_phXlDbjhg

EDIT 2: Now that I've actually read the press release, I don't think you are right! Surprised the price is the same, but nevertheless this is how it reads:

The video of the red unit is indeed very glossy. The black is piano black so it will be glossy as well. The white one doesnt look too glossy.

Yeah maybe the potter one has a logo on it or something. I still would not get it because of the glossy case. Well maybe I will and resell it at twice the price to the potter nerds.

Actually, I don't think that's the special edition Harry Potter. No doubt that will come later. Early rumors suggest the Special Edition will come with a Harry Potter cover and include all 7 books.

With a cover on maybe the gloss won't be so bad. I'm a little nervous however, as I find the buttons on my PRS-350 glossy and distracting when using an LED light to read in the dark and that's just the buttons. I've just pulled the reader out and stroked the midnight blue metal bezel. I'll miss it if I upgrade. I'll let the GF purchase one first and see how she gets on with it! Maybe a matte skin could do the trick but I hate the fact that I'm already having to think about workarounds to a problem that shouldn't exist.

Did you notice how BRIGHT the light was shining on the T1? It was so bright that you cannot see what's under the light. The text was totally hidden by the light. It might not be as glassy as you think. normal light is NOT that bright.

True. But putting my black 650 under an extremely bright light does not cause the case to shine like that red one in the video. But yeah it may not be that bad. We will just have to wait for more videos in the next month or so.

Heres a good video of a black 650 under extreme light. The screen has glare on it as well.

True that the 650 in black may not be as reflective. But we just don't know how reflective the red and black T1s are in regular light. I saw the video of the white T1 and it did not look reflective.

Yeah the white looked fine. But it wont show white bright light like a red or black casing on film as easily.

Glare issues aside it does look very nice. And light!

I still don't like their putting the page turn buttons on the bottom left. You don't actually have to swipe the screen to turn the page, right? You can just tap?
