The whole Apple fans are fanatics is a canard. As stated before, iPad is now a general consumer product. You know who are irrational? Certain Android fanatics. Check out this demographics: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_928275.html Key points: - 80% of Android users more likely to have only high school diploma - iOS users 37% more likely to have a graduate degree. Maybe that's why I see in this forum sophomoric arguments by a certain Android fanatic who has negligible command of the English grammar. Last edited by sonyreaderfan; 08-31-2011 at 05:45 PM. |

since android phones account for 54% of all smartphones you are saying that 80% of them don't have a college degree? Ummm Really. Next time if you are going to link to a poll let it be legitmate one as opposed to one done by who? Hunch? Do you make the sign of the apple and genuflect when you enter an apple store? Do sliced up Apples and Apple juice replace the bread and wine during Apple store church services? Last edited by boswd; 08-31-2011 at 04:36 PM.

. I didn't say that 80% of them don't have a college degree. The demographics in the link did. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_928275.html Please read the article or at least look at the graphics before shooting off your mouth. The demographics is compiled by Hunch, a marketing survey company.

This poll by Hunch, LOL is old news and has been made fun of by many tech pundits about a month ago. by linking the poll and along with your comment following shows reasons you believe it hence the "You" is that difficult for you to comprehend? I mean it shouldn't you have an iPad so you must have an MBA right? Which by the way I actually do Last edited by boswd; 08-31-2011 at 04:48 PM.

Blah blah blah... This whole "Apple is for idiots" thing is getting pretty damn tiresome. Here's a thought: if any anti-Apple or anti-Amazon or anti-anything else member has a new argument for why Company X is no good, by all means let's discuss the merits of his or her argument. Because so far, there is nothing that is being said that hasn't been said in one ineloquent form or another a thousand times. Do we really think the one thousand and first time will be more convincing? |

There *is* an accurate way to conduct polls in which you can obtain a statistically valid result (with a 95% confidence level within the margin of error). They do this for elections and are usually quite accurate. But the trick is to find a small sample (2-3000 people) that is representative of the population as a whole is relevant ways (same age, income, race, political party membership, etc. of the population as a whole). But this is not what hunch did - they just compiled all the answers that they got to their survey, which has no meaning at all. (Nielson, by contrast, has produced some valid numbers. But they are less interesting as linkbait).

You know what is also funny (beyond those proposed results being a waste of time), Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak both dropped out of college (I believe after one semester for Job's). Not sure if either ever went back though I'm sure they received some of those honorary degrees that get handed around these days. Rather ironic really |
