That's interesting. I never considered a smaller reading area would make you notice. Comparing the 7-in to 6-in, the 7 in gives just about several more line of text right? The width of the screens are the same. The 7-in is just taller.

I thought the 6-in would be comparable to 7-in since the lighter weight would trade off the fewer lines of text.

I'm envious. I should've grabbed one when they were being discounted at Best Buy. Darn. $199 was too good to pass up. I "justified" myself out of it.

That's one of the many reasons I got rid of the NOOKtouch. Too much margin space at the smallest setting. With my Kobo I can have no margins if I want. Text practically rubs against the sides. That's how I need it on the 6" screen with a medium font size. Was disappointed the NOOKtouch isn't the same size as the NOOKcolor. That's what I was hoping for in anticipation of the NOOK original being refreshed finally.

Why why why the curved bottom ???

And that plastic is way too shiny... hummm...

So what happens to the 350? Will it still be part of the line of ereaders from Sony?

How are you aware of reading on a smaller screen?

After watching the videos I am sold! I want one! It's lightweight like my Pocket Pro ( I think they weight the same) and has everything I want in a eReader.

The only thing that could change my mind now is the Kindle being just as good but for someone with small hands and arthritis the K3 is just too heavy. That's why I almost got the Kobo Touch but didn't like quilt backing or lack of dictionary support. Then found out how buggy it is and decided to wait on the next Kindle but now I want the PRS-T1.

Can't articulate it. Too me, it's just obvious that there's a big difference in screen size. Noticeably increased page turning is a given, but it's more than that.

Dang it! Look at that glare. I call beta test FAIL.

It has to be skinned, a cover won't be enough. Add $20 to the price.

Yeah, that red one reminds me of lip gloss on red lipstick. It's too much. I can't see a man buying that. I don't even want it.

I reckon I'll have to buy a 350 now and just live without the SD card.
The 950 and 350 make a perfect pair. Since I use the 350 for my purse and travel, I only keep a few hundred books on it and don't miss the SD card. I love the 7" size better than 6". I am sad to see it go too.

If I had the 650, then I would probably upgrade. The Wifi, Wikipedia access and direct library downloads would be worth it to me. I am glad that they didn't get rid of audio like Nook and Kobo did. Not crazy about the glossiness or the new cover style. I wish they offered it in pink. I won't know what I think of pinch and zoom until I see it myself. The price is competitive at last. $10-20 difference with the other brands is small enough for me to judge by features rather than price.

OK, I'm in. Wireless library and Google Books? That's close enough to my dream reader to make me very, very happy. I'll miss the metal body, but I don't cry over things I can't have.

And I like the shiny red reader. At least since Harry Potter will only be on the black one, I won't be fighting off a bunch of Potterites.

Yay!

I agree. That part is exciting! I borrow a lot of library books. The 950 already allows direct download of the Google ebooks public domain books. It's a really nice feature.

I wonder if the browser will allow downloads from any other sites. I hope so but my expectations are low. The 950 only allows Sony Reader Store and Google public domain downloads.

I usually like red...but not that shiny. I think I'd get the red (so I won't have to fight with a tweeny for the black/potter) but it will be skinned.

Even the black is too shiny, though.
