Itunes gets a lot of stick from the tech crowd, but most think its better and more capable than the Android media player and is better integrated with the iTunes store. The iTunes store is a one stop shopping media solution that is absent from the Android platform . The App Store >>> Google Market.
Now Amazon did have its cloud player up first, but Apple has a way of providing not the first solution, but the best solution. We'll see what Apple does in October

and over half of those 29 million people would stand in lines for days even if Apple released nothing more than a brick, an ordinary brick with an apple logo on it and sold it for $400. I'm not kidding I really honestly and truely think they would.

the rest aren't thinking whether or not they need or want connectivity and more functionality until after the fact. Let's be honest most are buying an image, Apple is trendy, no doubt and that's what they are buying into.

Android Market doesn't have one stop shopping like the App store / iTunes?

More to the point, Apple has in fact tried to market both a cube and a brick with apple logos, and had very little success

Obsessing over a company you hate is just as bizarre as obsessing over a company you love, imho.

no one's obsessing, this thread is to talk about the upcoming amazon tablet and of course the iCult fanatics have to come in and start blabbbing the iPad this the iPad that, many of us have simply pointed out it's shortcoming, it's lack of features but yet it's like talking to an iBrick iWall because it's Apple and everything Apple puts out is magical

Well, that didn't work for all those Android tablets, or for webOS, did it?
Now if you were the least bit curious, tyou would wonder why Android tablets failed so dismally, despite having all the right hardware geegaws.
However, instead of actual thought, you simply reached for those same tired anti-Apple slogans, eg. "Apple customers are sheeplike followers of a cult, being led around by that brilliant Apple marketing, etc, and ad nausem".

The whole "Apple is a cult" argument might have made some sense when we were talking about a few million Mac users, but now that there are 225 MILLION iTUNES ACCOUNT HOLDERS, its clearly nonsense.
I'm afraid that as an Apple hater, you need to update your game, mate. That Apple cult stuff is weak sauce.
What's noteworthy is that its clear that Amazon intends to ape Apple's strategy of controlling the platform from end to end by putting out these tablets. Why is that I wonder? Oh yeah, it works brilliantly, if executed right. Jeff has learned something from Steve. Maybe you should too?
