I don't hold my phone close to my face (unless it's to use it as a phone, in which case, I'm holding it next to my ear). In general, the distance at which I use my phone and tablet are the same. However, it's true that the 330 ppi might very well be overkill. While I find fonts noticeably smoother on the iPhone compared to the Sony PRS-350, the latter is already pretty decent. It's not necessarily CPU power that would be required to fill the screen. Assuming the sole purpose of the higher resolution is to smooth out the screen and not actually display more data, then it's just faster GPU that's needed.

Most likely 260ppi. An exact doubling of pixels makes backwards compatibility easy.

This is called color inverting and can be done across all apps by going into Settings> Accessibility> White on Black.

I don't have my iPad with me, but I do have my iPhone, and I believe that the setup is exactly the same. On the same page as White on Black you can chose to have a tripple click automagically invert the colors from anywhere. And you return to Kansas by tripple clicking again.

A question-If you opt to resell your Ipad, what's the best way to go about doing so? Ebay? Craigslist? Some other way?

I'd probably go with just the forum marketplace.

I consider and appreciate all of your opinion and comment. Some of you will still stick on their current iPad and some might go for iPad 3 if it will out in the market. Well, it will depend on the capacity of the person to buy a new iPad and to follow the trend. If he can afford to buy a new one then probably he'll buy iPad 3.

I found a site that might help you with your question.
cashforipads.com they're giving fair value to your iPad. As I heard, they'll buy your iPad even if its broken or somewhat damaged. It will be a good deal for you.
Hope it help you.

I can afford to buy an iPad 3, but I don't believe in buying for the sake of getting the latest toy. Whatever I buy will be obsolete within a few months anyway. I have better things to do with my money, time and energy than keep running after technological trends. And unless your name is Steve Jobs, you will always be behind.

As long as my iPad 2 performs to my satisfaction, I'll keep it. If I keep it one year longer I can probably get an iPad 4. But chances are I'll keep it longer than that. I felt guilty enough spending money on the iPad 2, I expect to get a few years of service from it.

If the iPad 3 has retina display (or something close to it) I'm swapping mine for one as soon as it becomes available. I never really wanted an iPad in the first place and I still feel I should have waited for at least one with retina display. I only got my iPad 2 because there's a comic app that was iPad only and there was a limited time sale on the comics ($1/vol instead of $5/vol). If not for that, I would've waited for Android to mature or held out for a Windows tablet.

True.

The thing is (based on all the thousand of rumors I've read) that the Amazon tablet won't be 10", at least, not the initial release. That makes a lot of difference when reading Magazines or computer books, which require more than 7".

Wait ... and compare specs.

I bought my 1st iPad and 1st generation, few days before iPad2 release. I got lucky and was able to exchange. On my case, the thinner feature and weight convinced me.

I don't read a lot on my iPad, prefer eink, but if the new iPad3 is not really, really thin or way more comfortable to what I have, I do not see any reason for upgrading.

I'm still waiting for some sort of Kindle DXG3 or any kind of 10" eink device, must be Amazon 'cause all my books are there and I just like the store, with better PDF support and faster page turn rate.

I am waiting for iPad 3 to come out in first quarter of 2012. I can see pixels while reading books on my friend's iPad 2. On the other hand I absolutely love the clarity with which text looks on my iPod. So I decided, better wait for huge resolution screen. Just for that single reason.

But if iPad 2 HD comes out, I will buy it.

Apple likes to 'Change Everything' and lead the way --- A "Retina" display on an iPad would be such a change and would certainly lead the way. I'd buy one of those.

I find that my iTouch 4 is the easiest to read of all my ebook devices. If there were to be a 7" or larger device with the same resolution, contrast, etc -- I'd buy one and, probably, stop looking because I can't imagine things getting much better for we readers-of-books. ;o)

I know that this is a very personal experience so what is true for me is not necessarily true for you, but I find that using my iPad tires my eyes more than using my old iPod Touch. It could be simply that I use the iPad for much longer periods than the iTouch, but I also think that a larger screen means more light in your eyes. I don't remember ever being inconvenienced by the lit screen of the iPod, but that sometimes happens with the iPad in dark environments. My apartment is not very well lit, I don't like bright lighting. Again, it's very personal so your mileage etc.
