Tom, I'm jealous that you had a Fanner Fifty! I always wanted one. They were a good argument for prohibiting advertising on children's tv shows! |

I remember when chemistry sets had real chemicals that you could do real damage with and have a grand old time. Chemistry sets these days contain little more than baking soda and other innocuous stuff.

I remember the Charles Atlas ads and the ads for novelties like "X-Ray" glasses and teeth-blackening chewing gum!

Arcade games still exist, but they are a lot more than a quarter a game! | |

I didn't know that either. The experiment I used to do all the time changed the water to some color (blue?) and then changed it back to clear again.

I remember Sea Monkeys! And Triple-S Blue stamps as well as S&H Green stamps, books and books of them in the kitchen draw, saving up for some 'must have' kitchen appliance. Stitchawl |

They still had those in comic books when I was a kid along with the ad for Sea Monkey's and the ones for the plastic figurines of revolutionary and civil war soldiers.

Toy soldiers, before they had moving parts and accessories. 'Slinkies' made of metal rather than plastic. Toy chests full of 'stuff that could put your eye out,' 'dangerous if swallowed,' and politically incorrect. Stitchawl |
