Of course it was made to be a good headline, but I wouldn't say it is illogical: observing changes in different parts of the brain with relation to various stimulation is hardly illogical, we just can't draw any concret conclusions based on the data/information provided. The critque was fair though, we need more information, but it was a TV show not a scientific journal so what did you expect.

The couldn't view video thing was a waste of words though, the BBC has always had region locked content, which is fair enough as the locals fund all the content, so the whole bangers and mash line was hardly witty.

Mainly I put them in tip jars. But if any make it home, they go in my coin jar. Every few months I turn out to have 50 bucks more than I thought, and spend it foolishly. I am good at that.

Indeed I am! When I was a teenager I lived in Germany. German men wore sandals with their suits, so when I started wearing suits in my first job in the early 70s, I wore sandals with my suits and grew a beard. I no longer wear the suits...

No, they purposely price phones high to get people to sign contracts. It's crazyiness, but people keep doing it.

I mean, look at the prepaid carriers. The Optimus V on Virgin is $150. The Moto Triumph - a 4.1inch/2GB/1Ghz Snapdragon phone - is only $300.

Do you REALLY a slightly faster phone with a tiny bit more RAM, like the HTC Thunderbolt, REALLY should cost more than twice as much as the Triumph? No, the prices are inflated, because low-price phones would kill the contract market.

Honestly, my Optimus V lasts about a day and a half, up to two days for me, as long as I leave bluetooth/wifi/GPS off when I'm not using them (easy with the power widget on the homescreen). As long as you're not trying to run a 4"+ superphone, battery life is pretty reasonable on a midrange or low-end smartphone.

Then again I'm not spending all of my hours fiddling with silly games or trying to use it as an e-reader

That's not a markup. Design costs are real costs. Otherwise, *anyone* could just sell a product identical to an iPad for $250.
