Quick links "Book" for your kindle (add your own links)
I have a "book" of often used websites that I keep on my kindle for quick access
To use it I just open the book then click on the link and it takes me to it without having to first open the browser through the menus. Just cut out section between the "--- CUT ---" lines and save it into a .txt file (I named mine Web Links.txt) Edit it as desired and copy it into documents folder on the kindle. Example : <P><A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/">Amazon Mobile</A></P> The Part in Red is the Actual Link The Part in Blue is what you want displayed on the Kindle's screen Note: You can add more links, I just used 3 as an example To add another, Just copy in a new line and edit it. --- Cut --- <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML> <BODY LANG="en-US" DIR="LTR"> <P><A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/">Amazon Mobile</A></P> <P><A HREF="http://www.google.com/xhtml">Google Mobile</A></P> <P><A HREF="http://en.m.wikipedia.org/">Wikipedia Mobile</A></P> </BODY> </HTML> --- Cut --- Last edited by Harry_Y; 08-22-2011 at 02:07 PM. |

Huh. I really hadn't thought of that. I was trying to come up with some method for easy links...guess I should've worked smarter, not harder.
Good idea! |

Well, yeah. It's just a standard HTML document. I just never really thought to put one together with a crap-ton of links. Well, not actually put one ON the kindle. I had the idea to put one together, and host it on my server as a plain page with no style, but I'd still have to navigate to the site...and blah blah blah...

Or :
Create a webpage (with subpages) on your own website , with as many bookmarks/links per page as you like , and new bookmarks/links added wherever you like . As an alternative for the Bookmarks option of the K3 browser : only 11 (portrait) or 8 (landscape) bookmarks/links per page, and new bookmarks/links always added at the end of the list . And then of course , add a link to that webpage as the first (and only ?) entry in the Bookmarks option . Last edited by AthenaAtDelphi; 08-24-2011 at 01:50 AM. |

https://www.google.com/bookmarks/ http://m.delicious.com/ ...etc (though number of links per page also limited for them) There is also a site to edit Kindle bookmarks.http://kindle-bookmark-editor.appspot.com/ (discussion is on this topic: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...90#post1186333) ..or using dropbox (or wordpress : kindlehome ) you can have a shortcut like: tinyurl.com/linkler and assign a shortcut for this page like this: Code:
H H = # 'k3_Home' 'Del' "http://tinyurl.com/linkler" 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'FW_Right' 'k3_FW_Press' Last edited by thomass; 09-01-2011 at 10:52 AM. |
