We have a ginger who does the same thing. His biggest joy at the moment, however, is sitting right in front of the TV and DVR, preventing us from both watching our shows and changing our channels.

Mr M has a habit of sitting on my chest and moving his head in front of the book I am reading or in my way of the TV. But if you stop patting him he eventually moves to his own pillow/rug/whatever bed he has chosen.

OK, truth be told, I only kill spiders that come near me. If they are on the wall (and very, very small) I don't bother them. However, if they are big and ugly... (like Wannabe's spider) they are dead meat. No ands, ifs, or buts. Head shot. Large calibre. Full auto.

wannabe's spider is good to keep in the house. they generally say on the walls and ceiling, don't make horrible webs in the house and best of all they eat cockroaches, and are not poisonous. They make great housemates because unlike geckoes, they don't wee and poo all over your walls.

Sounds like a useful tenant to have. Do geckos really wee and poo on the walls? How rude!

And by the way, where DO spiders poo? When I was living in Tokyo I was sharing the apartment with a huge cockroach. It was so big I could see its poo and so I knew where it had been, which I didn't especially want to know to be honest. It was a bit worrying to find cockroach poo in the kitchen drawer. Yuck.

geckoes also pee on your things. Our plasma TV has a gecko wee stain that has eroded the anti glare. i think there is another on on my LCD computer screen. Unlike other stains, gecko wee cannot be cleaned off if it has eaten into the surface.

Not that I know of, but I hate spiders. I can deal with small spiders but big ones I hate. Luckily there aren't a lot of those around, at least not inside houses.

I'm now waiting for it to turn 1pm so I can call the computer store. Not sure if I should pack my computer yet.

I didn't find it, we live in a very old house with lots of places it could have crawled away in any nook or cranny. I'm going to keep an eye out the next couple of days. I usually catch spiders (and bees, bumblebees, butterflies, moths, etc) and throw them outside into the tree next to my windows. I do kill some insects as mosquitoes and wasps.

A couple of weeks ago I was reading in bed when a small spider decided to bungee jump from the ceiling to right in front of my face, that startled me. My sister doesn't like any insect and squeals when there is one in her bedroom.

That's insane! You are paying more for bananas than we do here! And the prices HERE are insane! The AUS dollar is just about the same as the US dollar now, so that means almost $12 USD per kilo too! OUCH!

Switch to grapes.

How come bananas are so expensive in Australia? In the UK they're currently £0.68/kg in most supermarkets. That's AUS$1.08/kg.

It's not as if they're grown in the UK!

Tropical cyclone Yasi wiped out 95% of Far North Queensland's crop, and Far North Queensland is where most of Australia's 'nanas come from. Recovery is going to take some time, while demand is still high.

Oh. Yes, that makes sense. I hadn't realised the high prices were an aberration.
