OMG, I have become my father! After the birth of his first two children—both girls—he didn't wait for me to come along eight years later. He went ahead and bought the youngest of my sisters a Lionel Train set.

Bluddy cat!

Why does the cat think that every time I cut up an onion there will be beef for him.

A little while ago, he saw the knife, he saw the onion, he demanded in and sat underfoot whilst I cut up the onion. When I started on the carrot and celery he was beside himself. But alas, we are having vege soup tonight. The disappointed cat is soaking up the last of the afternoon sun on this late winter arvo. I think he knows in his heart this time there is no beef!

Radio Shack has "Flipper" cars - in various sizes - the antenna is on the remote control, not the car. I got the smallest size for Stella. The wheels run on carpet just fine, and when the car hits an obstacle, it flips over and reverses direction - a definite plus when Stella bats it under the kitchen stove. With fresh batteries, I can control the car in & out of 2-3 rooms -- the problem is sight lines -- as the batteries weaken, you have to keep the antenna in view of the car's location or it stops.

Thanks, pooh. I'll think I'll go out in a few minutes and head for the nearest Radio Shack and look for one of those.

Then you should get Norton a Flight Simulator. SameOldStory might advise you.

I just bought one similar to this at Toys"Я"Us, except it was metallic blue on one side, green on the other, and the box said it was for kids "6+" instead of "4+", but it looks pretty much like the same car.

I tried to find one at Radio Shack, but was told they only have them in the store around Christmas.

Norton failed to fix the problem because it's Norton. Use Kaspersky.

Another computer related rant.

On Wednesday I ordered my new computer, I was very surprised when they called on Friday that it was ready. And it turned out to be too good to be true. We picked it up this morning and at 5pm, after work, I set everything up to install my software and copy my files. First I find out that my keyboard has a PS2 plug and, which I knew, my motherboard hasn't got a PS2 socket. So I had to hurry out to get a new keyboard.

After everything is hooked up I spend several hours installing my programs and copying back files. Whilst installing a Sims 3 expansion pack the HD hung. It didn't want to do anything and after a reset it didn't want to load Windows, in diagnostics mode it can find the problem but not repair it. So I reinstall Windows thinking it might just be one of those things, I was installing and copying without rebooting except when asked. The second time I regularly reboot but it started to hang again after copying some files (I had installed most of my software again, but not The Sims 3). A reboot into safe mode went fine, hoping that solved the problem I rebooted into normal Windows which also went fine. But when Windows is loaded it started to hang again.

Since I had been messing around with the computer for 5 hours and it's a brand new computer I gave up. My guess is that it's the HD, I don't think it's the combination of my software or any of the individual programs since they all worked fine on my old computer and on my notebook.

I had planned to install everything tonight and then on Sunday and Monday, my days off, spend time playing Sims on my new and fast computer. Now I have to wait until Monday 1pm before I can call the store and take the computer back to the store. I assume it will take a couple of days before they have tested and fixed whatever the problem is. The fact that it's my Miss Cranky Pants Time doesn't help either (although it might help when dealing with the computer store on Monday).

I'm now going to make a cup of tea, maybe watch a dvd if I can find anything I'm in the mood for and read my book.

So I have to take the final test again, because I failed a subject, together with other 77 students. The first time in my life!!!! I get high scores (higher than 7/10) for all other subjects, but this one I get 3/10

Damn.

I can't describe my madness about this stupid subject.

For instance, we invested more than 2 months for a presentation, argued over many plots and did around 10 powerpoint files just to seek for the best one to show when giving the presentation. The hard work of 20 students, all for nothing: after our presentation the teacher said our work was good, there were no flaw in it, and that besides some minor places that needed correcting we were about to get bonus for that.

Guess what. Just last week that same teacher said our presentation was dead wrong, no information in it can be of use, and she minused two points in our midterm exam, and final exam, and even the attendance mark.

Damn.

This is not respectful of me, but the teacher is crazy as hell. I HATE HER.

It's a good news/bad news sort of day here. Good news: I went on a cooking binge yesterday: Bread, peach cobbler, and Southern Tomato Pie. Bad news: While I was doing this, Chris was rebuilding his computer - on my dining room table.
Good news: Except for the cobbler pan, I even cleaned up after myself and the kitchen looks reasonable considering all that got done in it yesterday. Bad news: The dining room looks like a tornado hit it. A tornado made of computer parts...
Good news: We had friends over last night while the cooking and computer building was taking place. Lots of fun and laughter to be had.
Bad news: I got to bed at six a.m. Chris got to bed at least an hour later than that.
Good news: Signed up for a free trial of Ancestry.com, which gives me access to all kinds of genealogical info I didn't have.
Bad news: I have school stuff to do today (since I didn't do it yesterday) and can't play with it.
