How is Karma correctly acquired?

matthew if someone likes what you posted because it was helpful or especially in this thread because it was funny or just because they are bored or any other inane reason; then they can give you karma by clicking on the blue karma button under your avatar.
A box pops up with a space to add a comment. The amount of karma you can give grows with your length of time on MR, your post count and your own karma count.
To see who has given you karma go to the top of the screen and under the MR icon if you click on User CP you can read the messages that came with your karma.
There is a message from me there now!

Edit: Hmmmm beaten by beppe - I really need to learn to be more succinct!
