I finished The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway a couple of days ago. I'm afraid that a prolonged absence of reading for pleasure due to school-mandated reading has rendered my ability to extract themes and deeper meaning a little weak at the moment. Hopefully that doesn't persist.

I just started reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons. 15% in and enjoying it so far. It certainly grabs the reader's attention faster than Dune (which was the last Sci-Fi I read) in my opinion.
EDIT: I'd like to add that I loved Dune, it is one of my all-time favorites. It just took me a while to get into it.

Shifting by BV Larson. Its a pretty apocalyptic story reminiscent of King's "The Mist". Magic is seeping into the real world, mutating people and playing havoc with any technology thats greater than middle ages era.

I'm just about finished with "The Sword-Edged Blond" by Alex Bledsoe and I have to admit... I really enjoy his style! Normally I don't read 'Fantasy' stuff, and I can't get into magic and dragons and stuff, but this book... Very entertaining!

It's the story of an almost over-the-hill sword jockey turned P.I. in an interesting mixed up world. Far out but not too far out. Clever concepts, fun dialogs, and interesting enough to keep me turning the pages. I'll be sorry to finish it.

This has been on my wishlist for a long time. Maybe I'll go find a used copy and read it. My friend won't lend me her copy (she would have to mail it) because she says it's a "keeper." (well, she would lend it to me, but I'd have to mail it back and with all that mailing, it's cheaper just to ORDER the dang thing!)

I can only locate two book written by him right now, but I have a feeling that he will write some more... At least, I hope so!

Moving straight on to Jo Nesbo's 'The Redeemer', my fourth Harry Hole Story in a row.

There's something about getting into a series that you enjoy. The only problem is that you know it will end soon and you will have to move on.

Normally, when I have finished a series, I move on to a different genre so that I am not directly comparing author to author (if you know what I mean )

Just finished "Eroma" by Piers Anthony. I would say it was a decent read for the price, but certainly not one of his better works. It's interesting to see that he has a couple of electronic-only books, at any rate.

Well, I didn't have my e-reader around, so I started reading James Joyce Ulysses. If the first thirty pages are any indication, this is going to hurt more than Moby Dick.

I'm reading Kingmaking (Pendragon's Banner Trilogy, Book 1) by Helen Hollick. I got it from Amazon for $1.99 http://www.amazon.com/Kingmaking-Pen...3438658&sr=1-1. It was $10 at Kobo

I'm not very far into but so far it's pretty good.

I just finished rereading Joseph Nassise's Riverwatch. Not as good as I remember it to be, I prefer Heretic, but still a good and entertaining read.

Now back again to Shogun. It's very good but a slow read for me.

Just finished Nick Spaldings "Life... With No Breaks" and "Life... On A High".
