The Black Cat is a little known gem with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.

I have a weakness for Stewart Granger: King Solomon's Mines, The Prisoner of Zenda are both great, Scaramouche less so but it has one of those duel scenes with staircases

To have and have not.

Casablanca.

I am now scouring the news because after over 7 years someone has been charged with the murder of Daniel Morcombe. It is a local issue that has us all in tears many times.

Oh, I loved that movie so much that I had to get The Making of the African Queen: Or, How I Went to Africa with Bogart, Bacall and Huston and Almost Lost My Mind by Katharine Hepburn. It gave me a whole new perspective on the era the movie was made, the difficulties encountered when making the movie, and the people who were in it.

Don't forget to read the book! C S Forester wrote "The African Queen" and it's a good read. As an ebook it only seems to be available in the US at the moment: http://enetpress.com/cart/index.php?...products_id=15

(enet press seems to be run by Forester's sons.)

I just looked at it -- wow, good for his parents for not giving up! What was the break that led them to find the guy? This story didn't say...

Australia follows (in general) the UK's sub judice rules. The paper can't publish any details that might prejudice potential jurors in a trial.

Note that "The man faces charges of ...", a factual statement, not 'The man who murdered ...' which would be prejudicial to the trial.

Note that "A police spokesman couldn't confirm reports that the accused was truck driver "P7", who appeared at a coronial inquest in April." He couldn't confirm (or deny) the reports because that might be prejudicial to the trial.

The details will be heard by the jury during the trial, and reported fully once the case is over.

Yup, that's the one.

Regarding classic films, how about "High Noon" (actually 1952, but still a great watch), or "Strangers on a Train" (this time 1951...but it is a Hitchcock)?

Ah, thanks. Unlike here, where the accused person is often tried and convicted by the press before the case ever comes to trial...

Anyway, I'm glad these parents may eventually get some closure.

Thanks for all the classic movie suggestions, my sister has been bugging me what I want for my birthday so I gave her the titles of some of the classic films.

I'm about to finish watching the Robin Hood extra's and if it isn't too late/early I might watch the first episode of True Blood season 3.

Surfing the web to find information about Dublin. My sister and I want to go on holiday next spring and I was thinking Dublin would be a nice place to visit.

Today my wife didn't check my grandson's pockets before she threw his pants in the washing machine. She washed all his money.

I'm thinking of calling the police and turning her in for money laundering. Would I get a reward for that?
