Coffee. In a cup that we made at the local paint your pottery shop with my four month old at the time. It's got some little hand and foot prints on it. It's sounds incredibly cheesy, but it means so much. I think it makes the coffee taste better. Feet and all.

Bought some tea, along with two new suitcases full of toys and clothes. (Had to pay $400 in overweight charges for the plane!)

Good trip. Gotta unpack, and really need sleep!

LOL Skibble and I'm feeling it today. Actually it's not as bad as I feared. I was afraid I'd feel like I was run over by a truck but the only thing that hurts is my neck because I slept oddly.

Sleep well baby. During your absence, they took advantage and incredible things happened. You were missed sorely.

Now that you are back, I can leave for my well deserved 3 weeks of Dolce far niente (sweet do nothing). Translatable in 3 weeks on the French Riviera. That is actually us. Yeah, well, maybe. I look much nicer than that guy.

Just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in, pretty soon I'm singin',

Doo, doo, doo, Lookin' out my back door.

There's a giant doing cartwheels, a statue wearin' high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola list'ning to Buck Owens.

Doo, doo, doo, Lookin' out my back door.

Good morning everyone! Be it ever so humble there's no place like home! It was a great vacation, and wonderful to see family and friends again after all these years... Some I hadn't seen in 30-40 years.... Seeing black and white cows and silos, highways with only a couple of cars on them in the middle of the day, signs that said "Moose Crossing," getting 'real' Maple syrup with my pancakes without asking for it... breakfast sausage and smoked bacon, HEAVEN!

And now back to reality. At least it starts off with good tea. Fortnum and Mason's "Royal Blend" to go along with my rice and miso soup. Changes...

Beppe, have a great time on the beach! Use plenty of sun block! Orlok, thanks for the song! Shel, Anh, and ProfCrash - thanks for the welcome. And now on to breakfast!

I'm up too early today (as usual), so I'm having a cup of moccha macchiato to wake up a bit.

I still have to pack my clothes bag (mostly t-shirts, 1 pair of white pants, 2 white light dress shirts, 1 pair of white shoes, old tennis shoes, a couple of shorts, 3 swimming trunks) and communication equipment bag: (netbook, ipad, ipod, kindle, cellphone, chargers, usb cables, 3 headsets. two pbooks),
and kitchen box (supplies that I do not find there, 1 chef knife and the stick blender, bottles of campari, lemoncello and white rhum, tomato sauce, olive oil, vinegar).

A cup of Rooibos Mirabelle Cream.

We just had our first 'fight'. Not really a fight, more a heated discussion. He wants to go out today. I want to stay home and finish Ghost Story. He couldn't understand me wanting to read a book so badly I would rather stay home than spend every minute of the day with him ... Sounds like we'll have plenty more of those discussion in the future

I immediately thought of this song:

Quote:
My girl's mad at me
I didn't wanna see the film tonight
I found it hard to say
She thought I'd had enough of her
Why can't she see
She's lovely to me?
But I like to stay in
And watch t.v. on my own
Every now and then
Hopefully he'll be more understanding than the girl in the song.

Nothing wrong with a good 'argument' so long as you finish it...
NEVER leave a 'problem' unresolved. NEVER! Talk it out or slug it out... but finish it before going to bed. "Leftovers" tend to rot...
