Anyone get their 149/169 Ebay EE from the weekend yet?

Got mine yesterday, rooted, turned on Debug with password, upgraded to 2.2.1, added Amazon Market, and a few assorted apps some of which would not install, Angry Birds not so good; but in general works well. Trying to hibernate it right now, may report later. Pleased for $149+shipping; neat to waste lots of time!

Was yours new and or a production model without the logo on it as well? Can you play video? Mine won't run any videos..

I got mine yesterday. It has the Entourage logo on the outside, and it says "entourage edge" on the bind (as opposed to "entourage edge 2.0").

It definitely has been used at some point. Evidence being 1) no protective screen stickers in place (except the webcam sticker was still here) 2) entourage guide open to a random page on the eink side 3) it looks like there was some but limited browser history from March 2011.

While it is not new, it definitely does not appear to have too much wear or tear. I got it updated to ermine ( I'm still wary about rooting these devices). I've played around a bit, and everything seems to work the way I expected it to. It has all of the typical issues:
1) browser crashed a couple times, although I was surfing for about 2 hours with about 2 or 3 crashes I think (browser is dolphin HD).
2) I closed it last night at 53% battery, and woke up to 13% battery --> hibernation does not seem to work.
3) The EE really is flimsy compared to the PE. I keep thinking the speaker/binding is about to bust open every time I close it. I've tried to be gentle about it.

I knew these were potential issues beforehand, so I'm not terribly disappointed on any of these points. I definitely think I'll be keeping this unless something terribly unexpected pops up in the next couple of days.

Yours sounds better.. does your tube app work? Mine always says failed video or something like that..

No, the tube app does not work. However, it has also given me issues on my PE. I just downloaded the youtube app that attaches to dolphin hd (got it from slideme market). All it is just a search bar on the side of dolphin, so, not ideal, but I keep telling myself my edge is supposed to be for work so maybe it's for the best......

Ok, so its not just mine. Did the app you attached allow you to see video? The Tube app does work on my PE. The video part is not that big of a deal like you said, but sometimes I play videos to learn something. The browser crashing for me is the biggest issue, even with Javascript disabled its crashing.

I'm just wondering if there is something different about the Logo EE's versus the none Logo EE's.. Like the none logo units have browser crashing issues but don't have hibernate issues.. at least that's what I'm seeing between the two I had..

Your hibernate works, if it did not then your edge would have not woken up in the morning =p
In addition, that is just how the edge hinge is. I had to get used to it at first, but eventually working with the edge hinge will be second nature.

Mine look new with Logo, no protective films and a few fingerprints (says its been checked out) Tube works fine! Well pleased so far.

Awesome, that answers a lot. I wonder what is different about the Logo versus non logo that the browser crashes on one and video doesn't work and hibernate works on one but not the other.. I'm curious now if people with browser crashes have the non logo model..

Got you, I misunderstood the issue with hibernation. Part of it was that while in use, it seemed to have better battery usage than my PE. But the PE has better battery conservation while hibernating, it appears.

And after some practice opens/closes, I think I have mastered the EE hinge.

Is hibernation on android the same as on windows/mac?

In my mind, there are two sleep modes:

standby - computer is basically asleep, but the computer is iive (on). LCD is off, HD is off etc.

Hibernation - everything is written to disk and ram, but system is powered OFF. It cannot function unless turned on. When turned on, it loads is previous state from desk (or in our case, memory).

When I close my PE, it seems to be in standby. I can hear it beep when it gets new mail and I can see the power button blink.

When you guys talk about hibernation, are you really talking about standby?

I think so Gary. Mine does the same and the battery continues to drain though at a slower rate. The issue was when you try to wake it, it won't wake up and you have to reset/turn it off and back on again.

So for this Edge doesn't seem to have the hibernation issue, but has the crashing browser/no video.. I've contacted the seller but I haven't heard anything back yet..

Synergi, the hibernation issue is a rather hit and miss one on the EE. Sometimes mine will hibernate several times in a row, then for some reason it won't come out of it and requires a battery pull.

That sort of thing I can live with, as I can with the browser disappearing at odd times. The one thing that really annoys me is the overall green tint to still pictures taken with the camera.

Ahhh ... the browser crashes but not nearly as bad as it did last night. I'm still waiting to hear from the seller. I have over 100 perfect feedback, but I've probably bought way over that amount. This is the first time I have bought something that was as described. We will see what he says, it still a good price but its the principle Of the matter. Saying it was new certaintly influenced my decision to buy it, but like you said the hibernate and probably the browser issue could be hit or miss.

I still am confused why video works on some machines but not others..

Been away from here for a couple of days, but just thought I'd chime in FYI my EE has no logo. I was one of the initial pre-orders, so not pre-production but simply first run. No logo doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't a "real" unit for sale.
