If you complain nothing happens, you might as well not bother. And my back hurts. It's not a very fine day, and I'm sick and tired of this office.

Hi, Desertranger, and welcome to MobileRead. My wife has one of the dumbest dogs on the planet; a pug who can't tell the difference between my leg and a female dog in heat. But he's a natural born comedian and keeps me laughing.

My favorite thing about Kindles is their superior note-taking and passage-copying abilities. Every passage you underline and every note you take is recorded in a text file called My Clippings that can be easily transferred to a PC or Mac.

Why, you watch them again, of course!

With, maybe, the three Lord of the Rings movies interspersed ..... and Princess Bride (the source for the Dread Pirate Roberts character).

And books, of course. We are all about books, in here! Now that I don't have to wait for the end of the series, I have finally started reading the Harry Potter series. I just finished book 5. They're really quite good! (The first 2 or 3 are when the boy is 11 thru 13, and they read as younger kid books. But they get even better later!)

bugger!

Borrowed an audio book from the library, had to download the overdrive media console so that I could listen to it, no problems. Then decided to put it on my Cowan audio player so that I could listen in the car. But because I've got a Mac, it won't transfer it to anything but an apple device AAARRRGGG!!!!. I love my Macbook but this is ridiculous. I can already hear my non Mac son saying "Told you". The Mac son probably has an old ipod around somewhere that he can give me otherwise I'll have to get yet another device.

Nikita died a little while ago.

When my mother was getting the cats' breakfast she started convulsing/chocking. My father immediately brought her to the vet but she had died before he'd arrived. The vet thinks she had a heart attack. I'm very sad and I hope we don't get any people in the store today asking to see the cat from The Cat in the City book.

The only good thing is that Lexie can now relax more. Nikita tolerated her mostly but at times went after her, when Kita was around Lexie was always very careful.

I can't imagine how it will be without Nikita. During the day she was often with us in the store, waiting for lunch so she could beg for a treat (after lunch she usually went upstairs to take a nap). Also no more complaining when I'm in bed at night when she got told off for stealing Lexie's food. Or the way she always came mumbling and complaining out of my closet when I was listening to music.

My sympathies. It's always a shock when a pet dies, and especially when you've lived with your pet for a long time.

So sorry to hear of the death of your beloved cat, Rumpelteazer. It's a very painful thing to lose someone who's like a member of the family.

Very sorry to hear of your loss Rumpleteazer. Losing a pet is awful. Something you (and any pet owner) might want to consider doing: when I put down my 14 year old shih-tzu (cancer...I really HATE cancer) I had a clay impression made of one of her paws. Over the past couple years I've found that imprint very soothing to look at when I miss her. I still have her dog tags on my key ring too.

I have a McProblem. My son downloaded a McTrojan to my Mac, and now the thing is full of McViruses. Norton could only partially fix the McProblem.

Fortunately, my main computer, and the one I do the vast majority of my posting from, is a Windows computer, and is password-protected to keep him off.

This ranks right up there with the time when, as a teenager, he couldn't open a program he wanted to use on my computer. I told him, "All you have to do is double-click on it for it to open." He replied, "Well, I clicked U-install, and now I can't find it."

Quite right, and also hard to find in most electronics stores here. And when they do have them they want a 500% markup from what's available on line, resulting in a dead battery for the time it takes to get one delivered.
