Actually there are two completely different plants which are called tea tree just because Cpt. Cook used leaves of both in this way.

only one of those - the manuka (leptospermum scoparum) plant from NZ has significantly high medical value (altough both oils are sold as tea tree oil)

It's even been reported, that said plant's honey is able do destroy MRSA which is resisrent vs. all existing antibiotics.
Divers like that stuff too, becaus it cleans sinuses completely i.e. better than antibiotics which effectively means diving w/o headaches again.

I never realised this, very interesting.
I have no idea which TTO I have, I do know that is help clearing sinuses when having a cold (a couple of drops in hot water and then inhaling the steam). It also helps great when I get a allergic reaction rash, it makes the itching stop and the rash disappears within hours.

New rant:
I was planning on sleeping late because during my house sitting I always got up around 8am to walk the dog, even on days off. But an hour ago, at 8am, I got woken up by someone drilling next door. I knew they were going to redecorate one of the restaurants next door, I just hadn't realised that they started so ****** early!

Last time when they suddenly drilled at noon exactly on the wall next to my head while I was trying to get a quick nap, my heart stopped dead for a good while I was about to go banging on their door... but someone beat me to it!!

I haven't ranted in a long while because I was too damn busy to get on here. Fast food restaurants are nuts. Thank goodness I am out of there.

Now for my rant: I am going back to work for a school. Great. They are paying me well. Double Great. They built a new school. Great? It will be, when the contractor get his act together and realizes that 'move in ready' means just that. The floors aren't smooth and flat, the ceilings have exposed wires where projectors have yet to be installed, baseboards are falling off, there are dents and scuffs on the walls, and not all the doors are installed correctly. Some doors have hugs gaps around them, and others don't have enough room to close. ??????

The contractor said to go ahead and move everything in and start school and they'll get everything completed around the students. UMMM, NO! For one, it is illegal to have them working around the students. For another, what is to guarantee he gets the work done after move in? There have been two 'final' walkthroughs. You would think he got the hint after the first one when they insisted he fix everything that was wrong.

So now we are stuck opening school in the old high school. Except they were preparing it for demolition, I guess, because all the computer wiring has already been taken out, so no computer access (and the curriculum comes from the internet so teachers cannot get their lesson plans), and most, if not all, the urinals have been removed. Why? I have no clue. I also heard the sewer and water had been disconnected.

It sounds like it will be a fun few weeks before we can get into the new building. I hope the contractor is eating large penalties for not having work completed in time. I don't want to think of the teachers who have everything packed, ready to move to the new school, only to have to pull out enough to get through the first few weeks of school, all while leaving everything else packed (and in the way).

And no computer access????? I'm not sure exactly what I will be doing, other than Special Ed inclusion, but this doesn't sound fun. My job usually consists (in other schools I have done this) of taking notes in classes and typing them up, and helping teachers modify tests and homework for students. Hard to do without computers.

I've got a couple of Hemingway books on my want to read list, but they cost a fortune in e-book format. I can get a paperback of The Sun Also Rises for $10 and the e-book costs $18.11. Ouch. Guess I'm going to the library. $20? I haven't paid more than $15 for a book in a long time. I should probably be grateful since this will save me money.

This is a brand new school, where everything is supposed to be perfect. The contractor thinks, evidently, it is no big deal that the floors, the cement floors, have hills and valleys and an actual pothole.

I have been in the school, before the first walkthrough, and thought that there was going to be some final, and leveling, layer of cement poured to level everything and cover the hole. Who leaves a two foot across hole in the floor of a new building, and expects it to pass inspection? It wasn't even in an out of the way place, but in the MIDDLE of the main hallway!

Oh, yeah, all desks had already been moved out of the old building into another school to replace old and wornout desks there. Can anyone say 'fiasco'?

You hear stories all the time of contractors that don't do things properly. If the school was smart they haven't paid everything yet, and had a penalty clause written into the contract. I'm almost positive the final funds have not been dispersed, I'm just not sure about the penalty part.
