[Help]902 connection problem under win 7
Hi, everyone.
I have a problem with my new 902. Apparently, win7 can't recognize this device via usb. And i don't think this is a material defaut, cause under win xp, there is no problem. I do have 2 computers with different systmes, but it is not quite convient to use one to buy/download books and another one to transfer. So, does anyone have a solution for this, maybe a driver for win7? Thanks a lot in advance, and please forgive me my poor english. |

Have you tried a different USB port? Do you get any messages about failed driver installations (and maybe unknown devices in device manager)?

Sorry i didn't clear it up. Yes, i tried all the ports, it doesn't work. And I don't get any messages, only in device manger, my 902 is marked as unknown device.

As crazy as it sounds, I find I get better results if I plug the USB cable into the computer first and then into the reader. I also have to wait for the green LED to be off when I plug the cable into the reader. Plugging it when the LED is shining usually results in the connection being ignored.

probably this is not the problem, but just in case: when you connect your PB902 via usb, a pop up screen should appear on the device asking whether you want to charge or connect. When you connect, the screen goes blank save for a symbol (which one will depend on the firmware version). When it charges, the device keeps working as normal.
If you do get the pop-up window, then just select that you want to connect. If teh pop-up window does not appear, it may be that the default upon usb connection is charging. If the latter, you have to change the settings in the configuration menu. The problem shouldn't be win7 (e.g. I do not have any issues running WIN7). |

Thanks all you guys to answer my topic. If there is no solution, i have to pick up my old notebook only for transfering books to my device.

-Turn on your PB -Plug it into your computer -Go to device manager -Right-click on unknown device -Update driver software and let it search automatically -If that doesn't work, you might instead select uninstall. Unplug it, then plug it back in. Maybe PnP will then do its magic. |

Really strange, because I am using PC and notebook, both with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and can connect without problem.

Maybe you can try another usb-cable. Sometimes they are the culprits even if they work with windows xp.
