I wonder if many people would feel more willing to grab the warranty after savings $100 or if it mostly just attracts cheapskates like myself who might not be buying otherwise.
they offered me a warranty but I turned it down.

Also the streak fits perfectly in one of my nook classic cases which is a bonus.

The counter lady kept going on about it, but I said no and explained $160 for a warrenty on a $300 device was too much and that the device alone took over my budget. She agreed :-)

I'm using a too large net book case right now kikar, but hope to find something better soon.

I had a feeling that was some of the motivation. I didn't expect it to be quite that pricey though. $160 even for a $400 insurance plan seems pretty hefty. And part of your price tag to begin with covers the manufacturer warranty.

That'll make the Pandigital novel only $50 bucks, looks decent enough at the store, though didn't get a real feel for it.

Coupon is back for the Staples $100. No exclusions if I read it correctly.

Thanks! Now all I have to do is decide on which tablet. The Toshiba Thrive looks pretty good.

Well I started getting frustrated with the Dell so I took it back and got the Acer Iconia. I have to say that I love this machine. It is so much better than my ipad. If android had a good index card app and a good story board app then I would ditch the ipad. I also purchased the Acer case for the Iconia while I was there. Btw I am typing this from the Iconia and I must say that the typing experience on Honeycomb is much better that that of my ipad.

I also like typing on the Iconia. I sometimes just lay it flat and type on it like a physical keyboard. It doesn't feel too horribly cramped. It's weird though that the FlexT9 keyboard's doesn't allow trace input(similar to swype) on the Iconia. I wonder if this is a Honeycomb thing. It doesn't even give you the opportunity to select it and have it freeze your tablet. :-)

I've been reading some reports that if your tablet of choice is sold out at Staples or you don't have a Staples near by Office Depot accepts Staples coupons. This is also great if you want an Asus Eee Pad Transformer since many Staples don't have them instore and Office Depot is one of the few stores that does.

Just an FYI

I also read in a forum yesterday that someone had luck with an HH Gregg store matching the coupon. I've only seen that one report, but might be worth a try.

Has anyone actually done it?

edit: Just called an Office Depot and they will NOT accept the Staples coupon for the Asus Transformer; but they WILL accept it for the Acer Iconia and Blackberry Playbook.

Really? Wow I wonder if the Asus is that popular at Office Depot?

It is because staples only sells the Asus online and Office Depot only will honor the coupon for an item sold in the store. That is what they told me.
