It reached 108 today with heat index of 120. I ventured out when it cooled down to 105 and it was so very hot and humid.

News reports said we need to visit Death Valley to cool off.

it was 54 at 0730 (not sure what it is now) we might get to 81 today

13C and raining, all day long.
Last year and the year before there was a heatwave when I was house sitting but this isn't fun either!

I've not heard that one before - I might have to steal it!

Now 110 F on the deck - I hear some thundering/mooing too now - but a quick check of the weather radar shows storms are popping up but not moving.

We had some monster thunderstorms last night. My wife thought we were having an unannounced hurricane. I was at work, but when I got home this morning, a major limb on a tree down the street had split off, two of our neighbors had holes in their privacy fences (although one of the fences had been damaged previously), and a trampoline from the next court over was sitting upside-down and smashed in the middle of our court.

Earth Quake... 6.2 rocker as I was trying to fall asleep... Bounced me around a bit.
That's enough to keep me up for a few extra minutes to see if the building is going to fall over. It didn't so I went to sleep. Mother Nature is NOT really a happy camper this year...
