Loblover, look at the title of this thread. The word free might be a bit of a giveaway.

I am about to start chapter 21 of Mistborn. When I reach chapter 26 (Part 4), I will post another Obelisk edition for Sony 500/505 users. Also I might post a Mobipocket edition as well at that point and if I do, I'll also post an IMP versions as well.

So please if you find any errors before chapter 21, please let me know so I can correct them.

Mostborin in LRF Proffed up to Chapter 26 (Part 4)

Going back to Mistborn, I have a conversion from the PDF to LRF. It's not perfect and I will be revising it as I read. I'm up to chapter 6 and I've cleaned up some of the missing fi and fl and bad paragraphs that I have noticed as I have been reading. But the format looks good though.

Thanks to llasram there is a NEW Python program called Obelisk that will take two files and make a diff file so you can recreate the secondary file if you have the primary file. So what I am doing it posting my diff file for Mistborn.pdf so as long as you have that, you will be able to generate the LRF that I am reading.

The zip file contains Obelisk.py and the diff file to generate the LRF. This is a command line program only. There is no GUI.

0. The code below is for Windows
1. Open a command prompt
2. Go to the directory that has Mistborn.pdf
3. unzip the contents of the attached ZIP file into that directory
4. Type in the command below
5. Enjoy reading on your 500/505.

Code:
obelisk.py part4 Mistborn.pdf "part4#Mistborn.pdf#Mistborn The Final Empire.lrf.obelisk" "Mistborn The Final Empire.lrf"
Please let me know if you do get this to work.

The original thread on his Obelisk is here at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=156354

P.S. I've updated the Obelisk file as I've read up to chapter 26 (Part 4)

Can I ask you why you are doing this?
I thought there was a HTML version if you asked Tor nicely?

Because when I id the conversion and started reading, there was no HTML. Also, I had spent some good amount of time cleaning/formatting the conversion from the PDF. And yes, it came out nice except for some missing fi & fl and the occasional bad paragraph. But overall, I didn't want to start over. Back at the beginning of the thread, some people were having trouble getting a decent conversion out of it. So I decided to do it to help. Once I finish reading it, I'll post a Mobipocket edition as well.

Besides, with the Obelisk program, it's trivial to do this.

That'd be great!

And to everyone else... hello. I just registered. I registered because I was wondering if any of you could send me the links that I missed. I was a bonehead and opted-out of the marketing after getting Mistborn (finished that already, JSWolf you must be spending more time with formatting than reading ).

Question on the side... why aren't these in the eBooks Upload section?

The ones I have managed to find with Google are Crystal Rain and Farthing. I re-registered so I was able to get Lord of the Isles and Through Wolf's Eyes. So I know that I missed at least Old Man's War and whatever else was sent in between. Can any of you forward those emails from Tor to me? Thanks.

Because they aren't ours to host. Books in the MobileRead ebook uploads section are editions created by MobileRead users from public domain and Creative Commons sources where we explicitly have permission to do it. We would need Tor's permission to host the volumes they offer here.

Exactly. Just because someone offers something for free does not mean they abdicate their copyright for the product. It also does not mean you can give it to anyone else and you certainly cannot post it.

I am reading Mistborn which is why I have not done much in the way of formatting recently. But when I am done with Mistborn, There will be nice LRF, PRC, and IMP copies for those who have the original PDF.

Thank you very much! I have not yet gotten the hang of converting things yet, so I downloaded everything in both pdf and html formats. If all else fails, these books can be read on my computer in pdf.
