Personally, I would ignore The Source and purchase directly from Amazon.com.
You are going to need to have an amazon.com billing relationship to authorise and purchase Kindle ebooks anyway ... and while you can't buy an extended warranty for Canada from Amazon, they do stand strongly behind the product at least through one year full replacement. |

I happened to be in two different malls today here in Toronto that had The Source stores and so I asked: yes, they had the Kindle WiFi in stock (the 3G is currently a special order) AND it indeed has the wall charger included. Since Amazon charges $20 for this, it makes the price (effectively) $159.99 ... which is the discounted price at both stores I went to (it appears the $169.99 isn't doing so well). The stores don't have any ebooks on their demo (literally, an open box sample) so they demonstrate it by opening the dictionary.
Anyway ... it's good value although until they prove themselves as a reliable channel (they have no ebook value add to offer ... it is just another gadget), I'd still be inclined to shop directly as Amazon. However, it's a nice first step. |

Just bought the 3G at The Source for $209 which included a wall charger. This was a nearly last minute decision before a vacation which is why I did not buy from Amazon. The Source did not have any cases. Staples had a few cases but their 3G was $229.
Since I already had an Amazon account, I just had to input my email and password to register my 3G. |

With the Canadian Dollar being much stronger than the US Dollar, it'll be worth the trip south of the border. Plus you get to fill up on cheaper gas at the same time.

It is actually cheaper to buy direct from Amazon and ship to Canada than buy it locally given the current $1Can buy $1.05US. The actual price is lower; you get direct full warranty; and while you pay shipping, that works out to around $20 and you get it in a couple of days.
But, we're talking a few cents or a coupla bucks. Supporting your local Bell dealer may be something valuable for you. It's nice to be able to go into a store and hold it before buying it. |

I'm in Canada. My k3 came with a wall charger, my replaced under warranty k3 came with a wall charger (so now I have 2), my wife's k3 came with a wall charger. By wall charger, I mean a little dongle type thing that plugs into the wall and then the usb cable plugs into the dongle. Last edited by foghat; 07-20-2011 at 02:20 PM. |

Yes, since around mid-June. You are lucky to get the dongle charger; most of us were charged extra in Canada; Amazon does not include it in most Kindle 3 sales (it used to come with the Kindle 2).

wow. Can't see that costing them more than a few cents to include. Can always get cheap ones on ebay that work perfectly fine - assuming the one for the iphone will work with the kindle. I'm sure it would.

The one for the iPhone works fine. (But the reverse is not true -- iPhones require a higher current to charge.) The Kindle is not a demanding device to charge (.085A@5v.)

You're not trying very hard. You don't say if you're US or Canada, but a quick check of both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca shows a raft of USB wall chargers starting at about $2.99 and going up from there. My personal favourite is a dual charger that's rated to handle an iPhone AND a Kindle at the same time, for $12.99, shown here.
