I just finished the first of the 'Myron Bolitar' series by Harlen Corben. Delightful! The repartee between Myron and his friend/associate, Win, is almost up there with Robert Parker's between Spenser and Hawk. The plot development is much stronger! No question about it that I'll certainly read the next in the series!

Ah, I saw that on G+.

I still want to try Jim Butcher. Maybe Codex Alera? It's next on the list.

I just read The Impossibles by Randall Garrett and Laurence M. Janifer, in which hard-boiled F.B.I. agent Ken Malone wonders how to capture a gang of teenage car thieves who have the ability to teleport themselves anywhere at any time at will. He is aided by tips received via a genuine psychic who, like all genuine psychics Malone knows, is thoroughly insane. This one believes herself to be the Queen of England. At one point, Malone begins to doubt his own sanity, which gives him some comfort, until he realizes that he is, in fact, quite sane, and that it is the world that has suddenly gone topsy-turvy.

It was a lot of fun to read, although I thought the third quarter dragged a bit, and I will be checking out more books by the late Randall Garrett.

I'm about 75 pages into Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. Definitely not Frank L. Baum's Oz. Sex, drugs, and idol worship, oh my!

One of my fave series of all . It gets even better as it goes on, and Win features more prominently as the series progresses.

Have you tried the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike Novels by Robert Crais? Just as good IMO .

Better, especially the ones that feature Pike.

Thanks! I was able to download books 1, 2 and 3 from my local library! Great weekend of reading!

Monster Hunter International, by Larry Correia.

Although I said I would read Codex Alera next, 3 first pages of it didn't catch my eyes. I also promised myself to read Malazan Books of the Fallen, but TEN big books look really unnerving.

I really enjoyed Codex Alera, I've recommended it to a few people already. I hope you get back to it

I've started The reluctant mage by Karen Miller yesterday, the final book in the Fisherman's Children Series. It's her best book so far!

I did read the first one a while back, and enjoyed it. But there were so many other books on my TBR list that I still haven't gotten to book 2.

Right now I'm reading "Dave Barry Does Japan." In a word... hilarious! Living here for so long I take all these things for granted. But reading about them as seen through the eyes of someone just visiting for the first time...well, suffice it to say that this is one really bizarre place! I mean, what's so odd about bowing to someone over the phone?

Did you guys know that there's a release date for the new Dark Tower book (The wind through the keyhole)? This book is set between book 4 (Wizard and Glass) and book 5 (Wolves of the Calla). It's supposed to be released on April 3th 2012! Another preorder for me

Don't be too surprised to find out that you may have significantly less active brain cells left after finishing Demonic. Coulter is a certifiable wacko. The problem is that she thinks she's being serious and she thinks she's actually correct and knows what's best for America. She's as bad for America as Baynor.

I just got the 2nd Kitty book from the library so I'll be giving that one a go quite soon. I did like the first one. Do they get better or are they about the same? Either way is OK as the first one is pretty good.
