Not at all all you guys qoute is screen resolution it has nothing to do with cover size in any way or form, well it does and doesnt. In this case it has no bearing on what I am asking. ACtually the only one who seems to know what he is talking about is theducks.

Any size of graphic OTHER than the native dimensions of the device will require scaling, interpolation or other similar techniques to be used.
YOUR creating or massaging a cover to the devices native resolution will ensure that no additional resizing IS required |

another is on the Output options if you DON'T use the "No SVG cover" option. Then you can tick the "maintain Aspect Ratio" box |

IT has no bearing at all.. I dont need to know the resolution of the screen. thats not the issue in any way or format. The sooner you understand that the better.

When you convert a book using calibre it resizes the cover image per the device selected and inserts it into the book. What device do you have set for the output profile?

Walt I have the kobo selected, I have also tried generic Verison as well. Its itneresting to note that if I reset the Kobo to factory the books that were pushed to the sd card from calibre will be reprocessed and volia the covers show.... I am still angling along the lines that Calibre is at fault here. All the books show up wtih covers corectly in for instance Stanza.

Theducks, So "CSS" what is that and where exactly does it controll the cover sizing.... I do have kobo selected but to be fair i have tried it all over and over again. dif formats etc. Like I said if i factory reset the kobo... and let it process the content again it all shows up nice covers and all. Untill i connect Calibre and then the covers stop showing up after processing content.

From there on, it is SIMPLE reverse engineering ![]() Find the place that uses the image: Note the class= name associated. find those same names in the CSS. That affects the image. w3c.org has XHTML and CSS reference documentation ![]() |

I have factory reset the Kobo... Waited out the prcoessing content its a long wait btw because of the number of books. The books that were pushed wtih calibre to the sd card are there.. but now that Calibre is not communicating wiht the kobo All the covers are showing up. This is a strong indication that calibre is corrupting the meta data somewhere along the line. I think I will use Calibre to manage my books but not to manage the Reader. |
