I am on the sea side where I have no internetz. I am connecting via bluetooth to my old Nokia's network at the moment and that works slowly and sporadically but it works.
I'm off to make myself a cup of coffee. I have finally finished Game of Thrones! That was a BIG BOOK! How is everybody doing? |

![]() Oh, to answer your question, I just watched Beastly (hey I'm still teens!). Pettyfer looks good as always but everyone's acting sucks, which is predictable. Vanessa Hudgens playing 'Beauty'? Oh please... Romantic movies nowadays are huge failures. I miss "You've got mail". |

The genre is epic fantasy. The story is set somewhere in an era much like our Middle age. There are lords and knights and kings and queens and free people and servants and slaves. You follow what happens in one kingdom, events from different parts, different families, different people. Every action requires a reaction and we are reading the end result. This makes it a little bit unusual, because there is no main hero no main bad guy. Everybody has their own agenda, everybody is led by their values and characteristics and characters you might dislike in the beginning become more understandable as you learn more about what they believe in or fight for. Characters grow and change as events affect them. It's a little bit complex because of a great number of characters and the way he switches between them. The book is perfect for being made a film or TV show because he writes in scenes, something happens to one character and he switches to show you what's going on with someone else. So... they did make a show and it was great. It followed to book to the letter. Very very very few things have been cut out or changed. The actors are amazing, the scenery and costumes are awesome. I always read first then watch later. In this case, it happened to be reversed (the show was being screen for free at the cinema as a part of some festival, so i went and saw it). I didn't mind, it was that good. ![]() |

![]() And to your earlier post, you're right, this series has a strong point: everybody acts to their benefits and it's understandable when the time comes to reveal their motivations. ![]() |

You know it is going to be 8-9 books and not 7.
This morning I made my first Yerba Mate Latte in ages. I used Teavana's My Morning Mate and am loving it. |

![]() Holy shit with every book getting thicker and thicker they will come to 1500 pages! ![]() I actually had the Croatian version in the paper book, hard cover, but it was so difficult to handle the book that size that I opted for reading the english version on my ereader. |

I tried some of that rooibos stuff today, with a "hint of vanilla. I've never been a tea drinker,as others in my family were and are, but it seemed quite nice. I had it with a splash of milk and half a sugar, as is my wont, but TL1 enjoyed it straight very much. I think he wants more.
Cheers, Marc |

That's closer to reality, I think. There is no one 'pure evil', or 'pure good' in life, someone once told me. |

I still disagree. I do not understand why Cersei is so completely evil, also Roose Molton and his bastard son, they are several books away from you. and I forgot to mention that Tyrion is one of the finest underdogs I have seen... ever
