no longer on sale, i'm told, and they're no longer going to be sold. local cvs has a few in the back room. told me the price was 100. i offered 80, since they were in the back room and no one else was going to buy them. sold. i might pick up two or three in case the first one is a dud. return the ones i don't open or use.

question: what tests, etc can i do right out of the box to see if it's a good un or a bad un? thanks! |

well, i hope they will take em back, because i might need to return em. i posted this on another forum but thought i might try it here too:

for the life o me i can't figure out how to set the time / date and make it stick. every time i change the settings and reboot, it comes up as some 7 pm in 1969. yetch. i've tried setting it manually, but it changes back that way too. i logged into google, set my location, thinking that 'automatically' choosing date / time might be linked to that, but no go. nothing i do keeps the right time n date. i actually bought two of these tabs yesterday figuring one might be defective and i'd return it. after having the time date problem with one of them, i tried the other. same thing. now i'm beginning to think it's me. can you help? |

nope, didn't work. here's what i did: took it off automatic. set time zone, set date, set time. left it on manual. went back to main screen, fooled around for a minute, held the power switch down, powered the tablet off, rebooted ... came it up as being 7:02 pm on December 31, 1969. arggg!

any other thoughts? maybe i should install the official craig update? p.s. i see you have a pembroke corgi. until recently, we had both a pembroke and a cardigan; the cardigan passed on and the pembroke remains ... one great dog! thanks again for your help. edit: i updated to v 2.2 and that did the trick. but what do i do now as a rooted rom or whatever? do you know? edit v2: i spoke too soon. time/date was right but then i went and rebooted and lost it again, now can't get it back. guess i'm going to have to return these things. damn! I finally found some free time today to install 2.1 with market access and it went very smoothly. The device just improved immeasurably. When I'm at home on wifi I pick it up as my first choice over my Samsung Fascinate. Again, thank you all. |

Excellent thread -- I have an entourage pocket edge and have been trying to get Android Market Place to work. It runs, but I cannot download. It seems like I have to somehow link my google account to my tablet. For those in the know about this, how can I do this on my tablet.
