I "send to device - main memory" and eject my touch. There is then no "Processing content" screen and the books don't go to the device. I deleted the two files metadata.calibre and driver.calibre as well - nothing. But I know the books are there because you can see them in the directory. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling calibre but it doesn't work, tried 8.10 and 8.7 - still no luck. I've given up and I'm reading the books sideloaded from ADE
I had to delete the books using calibre. Then eject the device. Close calibre. Then plug it up again and see if the books were in the directory (they were in the .trash folder). Then I deleted those .calibre files on the device. Then opened calibre (showing no books on the device) and resent them. It took me 1/2 hour to figure out what the heck was going on.

Scion, thanks for this. I'll give it a go this evening. I've deleted the books using calibre, but haven't then gone into the .trash folder as well so will try that.

In the meantime I'll have some breakfast and read my DRM infested book (loaded via ADE). Then off to work....why does work interfere with what should be quality reading time?

I can see my books now.

But it isn't as seamless as it was before I got my kobo touch.

Scion, I didn't have a .trash folder even after I deleted the books. But I checked that they were no where to be found then did as you suggested, ejected the KT, QUIT calibre (which I haven't done before), deleted the metadata.calibre and driver.calibre files, reloaded the books - and there they were. And as I type this I realise I can't remember the exact order I did it! So hopefully next time I'll be able to sort it.

Looks like there are still a few issues to be sorted out but I'm sure the calibre developers will get onto it as soon as they can.

Thanks for your help

{DISREGARD - fixed my problem -was as simple as restore defaults}
I haven't had a problem adding books to my KT using Calibre but one problem I do have is that when I plug it in, it does something funky with the columns and I can't see the column which indicates whether a book on the device - and it cuts of the beginning of the titles. Then goes back to normal when I eject the KT.
