Yes, that is normal. The way the Touch settings work is that the sleep setting must be equal to or less than the power-off setting.

I have mine now set to never for both sleep and turning off and have not seen the problem since. If I do I will let you all know

Funny, I saw this happen for the first time today. I wonder if it's something to do with the device giving a low-battery warning - but if so the warning disappears and leaves it on the regular Home screen.

My battery was full. Only happens to me with sleep set to 15 and shutdown set to never. The default setting. Couldn't get to happen with both set to 15 or both set to never

I've changed the sleep settings back to 15 minutes. So far, the problem has not resurfaced. This is with the power off settings at both 15 minutes and never. However, I only waited for about a half hour each time to see if it would turn back on.

Try setting it back to the default.
15 min sleep and power off set to never. This is the only way I saw the problem.

I already did that (reread my message). Nothing happened for 30 minutes. The problem seems to be more random than I originally thought.

I put mine back to the default settings and the problem did come back. I'm keeping mine set to never for both sleep and powering off until this gets fixed.

I was able to get my Touch to power itself on if I first manually powered the reader off while a book was open. i.e. in reading mode It did not happen if I let the reader power itself off using the auto sleep and auto power-off settings. Is this what is happening for you? i.e. the problem only occurs if a manual power-off is done from reading mode.

basically yes. Manually powering down but I can only get the issue to happen if I have sleep set to 15 minutes and powerdown set to never.
I couldn't reproduce the problem with both set to never or both set to 15 minutes.

I had mine set to sleep at 15 and powerdown at 45 min and was having the KT turn on by itself too, so it's not just the default setting that does that. I switched it to 15 min for both and it seems to be ok so far.

This has been happening with my KT since the new update. The first time it happened I thought I'd accidentally put it to sleep instead of power off. The second time I knew for sure there was a problem.
I changed my sleep and power off settings to never. I haven't had a problem since but I hope it's fixed in the next update. I don't want it to drain my battery.

Add me to the list of people for whom it's randomly turning itself on for. Seems to happen every other day (latest being this morning) for me, however.

I guess until they fix it the only option will be to try and remember to change the power down setting from Never to the lowest before turning it off for the night (and then try to remember to turn it back on) since having the power off during the day is not conducive to reading at random intervals...
