dafrizz great news that it finally arrived for you. Shame you still need to wait another day before you pick it up though.
I just checked and mine shipped yesterday (05th July) which was probably really today our time but I like to pretend it was yesterday and might already be on a plane heading South! Then again that's probably just setting me up for disappointment.
I should just go and enjoy reading on my original Kobo for the next 2 weeks.

Anticipation is all part of it.

I hope you have a private office where you can close the door, otherwise your colleagues may wonder why you don't do much work tomorrow

My touch finally arrived in Carnarvon some time this week, but of course I am in Japan, so my kind daughter has forwarded it on to me, which means I have to wait another ten days or so.

Still - better late than never.....

Cheers
John - not in sunny Carnarvon, but Takikawa Hokkaido Japan, where it is raining gently!

John - how long are you in Japan? Pleased to hear your kobo has finally turned up in Aus. And raining gently? I thought it was the rainy season there - I lived in Nagasaki for a while and "rain" and "gently" seldom went together.

Hi KiwiPippa,

I'm in Hokkaido for the next 10 weeks towing gliders in Takikawa. We miss some of the rainy season this far north (43 degrees).

Having a Kobo makes it so much easier to have plenty of books to read on days like this. English language books are not available in the local shops and sadly my Japanese language skills are close to zero, but I still have lots of fun without making too much of a fool of myself.

Later - Of course, in the end today was much like Melbourne - four seasons in one day but with out the cold

Why is Melbourne known for this? Every time I go there it's 4 seasons in one day - but I love the place. Off in October for 10 days to have a really good look round.

Enjoy Hokkaido - and have fun trying to speak Japanese.

I'm a Melbourne boy, born and bred and suspect that title was applied to Melbourne by another city a little to our north.

That's not to say we don't use it ourselves, though. That said, today is more like one dreary season in one day.

Rather like London.

Another day of disappointment... still no Kobo. If mine has been shipped via Austria, it damn well better have stopped to pick up sauerbraten on the way.

Tomorrow marks 3 weeks since I received notification that my order had shipped.

Ted that's really disappointing. Tomorrow is one week since my supposed shipping date and I was hoping it might be halfway here.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

I had to google that....don't spill it on your new touch. You may find yourself skipping ahead in the book you're reading.

Mine has FINALLY arrived in Japan. It only took a week from Sunny Carnarvon in Western Australia (thanks to my daughter, Erica), which is much better than the more than three weeks from it origin.

It looks like it came from Frankfurt Germany, like some other have suspected. I'm just updating it now and I will have a play tonight - but this plan might be interrupted by a Japanese Style BBQ tonight. I can hardly wait for that sheep intestine to be brought out....

Cheers

Yum, yum....make sure you eat it all.

Pleased your kobo finally turned up, enjoy setting it up. A new firmware upgrade came out today which improved it even more. I don't know whether Japanese kanji is readable on it though - probably not.

I'm pleased to say that after a 27 day journey, my KT finally arrived this afternoon. I've run it through the initial setup and it's now charging.

Ted that is excellent news! Does it have any evidence to show where it has been for the past 4 weeks?
