hmm so I already have a paperback copy of The Complete Lewis Carroll (but newsprint ick lol. bought it when i was younger) and I have a coffee table book of Alice, but I keep thinking I also want the Annotated Alice, which is hard-bound, beautiful and ugh...mom's going to kill me xP

I just "happened" to be browsing the Kindle store

(I have a list of 'classic' authors that I read in pbook form that I periodically check to see if publishers have added their backlist titles to the ebook catalog)

And I heard violins playing ....
And a roaring in my ears ....
[and the muted shrieking of my wounded credit card]

When my eyes finally focused on my computer screen ....

My index finger was aching, still poised over the "Buy Now With 1-Click" button, and my email notification indicated I had ..... errrr ..... "several" new emails from Amazon confirming my ..... errrr ..... purchases ....

I ran to my Kindle and activated the Wi-Fi .... and to my inexpressible horror

new books downloaded & appeared on my Home screen!

How could this have happened?

What will my friends in the Addicts club think of me?

How could I be so weak?

Is there any hope left for my shattered psyche?

Have to go read now ......

I have the perfect way to solve everyone's eBook buying problems. Send me your readers. You won't have them and you need to buy eBooks won't be as great.

I've been taking advantage of libraries. That's how I've managed to not yet buy eBooks. If I do buy an eBook, it will b a Star Trek eBook and that's only once a month. So yes, I am a junkie. But I satisfy my habit mostly for free.

Now, now. That tree was already killed since the book was already printed. Buying it just gives the book a decent home and ensures that the tree's sacrifice wasn't in vain.

Tree Killer is rubbish... should be tree preserver... pulp for paper is produced from trees specially grown for the purpose... if they were not going to produce paper then there would be no commercial reason to grow them... if you want more trees to be planted then buy paper books and trees will continue to be planted as they are used and in paper form they are a carbon sink plus the uptake by the new trees...

I have The Annotated Alice. I really like it... keep wishing they'd make an eBook version.
