Sony New Tablets

Yesterday Sony announced two new Android tablets.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-.../?tag=mncol;1n

There's also a video on CNET.

Given the Rowling announcement, I think we are still likely to see new e-ink readers as well.

Having recently picked up a BN Nook Color and rooted it to CM7, I am adjusting to a backlit device for indoor reading. Now I carry the Nook, the 350 and a Windows 7 laptop with me when I travel. Each has its own purpose.

Interesting. The slight teardrop like bulge at the top of the S1 is novel - would need obviously to hold this thing in my hand to see if it does lay better. That clamshell device is also kind of interesting.

Need more specs and info. Nice to see Sony in the tablet game though Thanks for the post!

I wonder if they are going to revamp their reader software so that it works on a tablet.

They have an Android app, although it's not all that great.

I'm disappointed with Sony. The presentation was unprepared and clunky. I felt more like I was watching a QVC infomercial. I so wished Sony would get their act together and REALLY show off their products, prepare for the common questions, like where is the keyboard, how much is it and when will it be available. Get this "executative" off the screen and get in someone that knows the product and can give a professional on screen presentation.

I LOVE Sony and WANT them to suceed. They won't compete properly until they get their act together.

Very Sad.

I think that is irrelevant. There will be truckloads of reviews after they are out, i don't see the need for such disappointment. I just wanted to see the thing.

I know, but I should have said windows 7 tablet PC. I've tried on two tablets and the software loads, but does not resize to fit a tablet size screen, 7" or 8.9".
