This is a reply to those who don't like touch-screens.
I was very apprehensive about the new Kobo Touch when I first looked at it. I too, wanted a physical button for page turning, however, there were other features that I liked so I decided to try it out, I could just return it if the touchscreen was a nuisance. Much to my surprise I really like the touchscreen. I find it less noticeable to just turn the page with my thumb than using the D-pad on the original Kobo. You might want to go down to a store and give them a try. However, you need to try a Kobo Touch with the 1.9.5 firmware as the older firmware was really 'touchy' ![]() |

Specs that will stop me from buying:
LCD screen - only eink for my ebook readers physical keyboard - I don't take notes and don't need or want this feature requirement for charging any less than every 10 hours doesn't support epub less than 2Gb storage Some members here can't stand the thought of using a computer to download books. Since I use calibre, use of a computer is essential for me. Vic |

+1. I have to reformat any book I get to allow for my OCD of tagging, collections, cover art, base font size and archiving. Even if my 650 had the ability to download books on the fly I doubt I'd use it.

What I Now Look at is Customer Service! & Credit Cards! Nook has POOR CS & you Have to Have CC to even use it!!! Which is why I Switched to Kindle!! Nooks have Poor Battery life also!

Other features I wouldn't want: - LCD screen: I've tried reading on them, and after a while they get annoying. I prefer the look of eInk. Also, eInk allows for greater battery life, which is always a plus. - Keyboard: Like many others I, too, do not feel the need to have a physical keyboard. It's just taking up space. - Whiteness: As someone who owns a Nook WiFi (which is all white) I know how messy the back of the device can look after a while. In spite of my best efforts, the bottom half of the Nook is now smudged (since that's where I tend to hold the device) and makes me look like a dirty pig. Never again. |

If it has touchscreen but no page turn buttons, then I'd be avoiding it.
I have a Sony 350 now, and use the buttons to turn the page - just do not find the touchscreen as easy (for page turning). Could be a hangover from using the 505, or my epubs are formatted to have minimal margins. |

No exandable memory. My tower has gigs of ebooks and id like to load these on my nook color. I purchased the NC after reading many many products reviews, user reviews and from some hands on use of some of the devices themselves. For my needs the nook color is perefect. E-BOOK reader first, portable tablet second.

Touchscreen (useless, annoying, and they just attract filth)
LCD screen (I read a book on my BlackBerry once-it was a book I just couldn't put down and I paid the price-excruciating pain from the eye strain) Ugly design- I'm sorry but I think the Original Nook is hideous. That little color screen is useless. My mother has one and she hates that little screen. Not a deabreaker, but I think SD slots are useless too. Most e-readers have tons of internal storage now. I have about 300 books on my Kindle 2 plus lots of magazines and newspapers and I still have over a gig left in free space. |
