I noticed it in an old-school version of the pirate sites yesterday (well, might have been very early this morning).

Amazon Germany screwed up and started fulfilling orders for the book 10-12 days early. The publisher called them up and gave them a verbal spanking and they stopped, of course. But the damage was already done. Pirates had a head start on this one.

i would have preferred to wait on the library but they only have the first 2 books so i'm guessing it would be a long wait

apparently they aren't "in" the advantage program whatever that is so they list book 3 and 4 but they aren't available

$15 wasn't too painful but i'm reading the previous books again - probably could have waited

I'll wait until he finishes the series and then buy the rest of the books.

I fully expect him to. There are suppose to be 7 books in the series. He has a minimum of 2 more to write. I don't expect the next book for another 5 years. Then 5 years after that for the 7th book. Realistically speaking, he is going to end up with more then 7 books, the fourth and fifth were suppose to be one book that got to be too large and I expect that to happen at least one more time.

So he might finish the series in 15 years.

Let me put it this way, the length of time in between the books is far too long. His publisher does not seem to have the balls to tell him to write on a schedule that is reasonable or to tell him to learn to cut out the minor stuff. HBO is probably paying him a good amount for the series so he has no real financial reason to write.

I don't trust him. I did enjoy the first three books but I won't pick up the rest of the series until it is done.

I agree completely ProfCrash. I love the books I've read, but I need to see that the end is at least "in sight" before I pick the series back up. I certainly wish I could enjoy reading stories in 5 year bursts, but I just can't... happy for those who can, though.

I surely hope he finishes the series before that time frame. Only reason I started on book 5 was because I just read book 4.

My libraries have all 4, but with varying waiting periods. Seems people want to read the previous ones before they buy the new one.

I suspect my libraries will be getting the new one soon enough.

I hope so to. His track record tells a very different story.

I'm in this boat too. I waited on Wheel of Time and now that the end of that is in sight I started reading it again. The last time I read one of those books was in 1998 so I had to start over.

The Dark Tower was another annoying series as far as waiting between books.

I hope he puts the next two out a little quicker.

It was $14.99 when I got it, and I preordered in June. While it's true I would prefer to pay less, of course, I also figure it's still cheaper than the hardback, and I got it right away, so I'm happy with it. I'm about 1/2 way through.

I do wonder if he will finish the series, and if he does, in what time frame, given that halfway through this one I don't really see signals that the series is a coming to an end (and I do know he has the plans for the other books), but....I like the series enough to read it anyway.

He's been saying it'll be seven books for quite a while now, but has been quoted lately as saying he's not sure he can wrap everything up in seven and it might end up being eight. He won't be starting the next book until sometime in 2012. It may be 10-15 years before it's all done.

Anyone else notice that A Dance with Dragons doesn't seem to have page numbers like other Kindle books?
