Good morning, all! And special greetings for our birthday girls!
Today begins with a mug of East India Company's 'Royal Breakfast' tea and left-over vegetarian tacos that I whipped up last night for dinner. Not a bad combination. But then, almost anything tastes good when accompanied by the right tea!

I noticed that none of the ladies have mentioned their ages... Is it still considered a faux pas to discuss? I always thought that interesting. After all, everyone that I know gets older.

Say, do girls still have "Sweet 16" parties? I remember my girlfriend's party... held at some reception hall... must have been 30-40 kids there... I even remember that I bought her a powder blue Travel cosmetics suitcase as a gift... I can't imagine how such a gift would be received today, but I sure remember the thanks "I" got!

(I wonder if Bobby W. and Cookie S. are still glued together at the lips. Every time I saw them at the party it was as if they were Siamese Twins joined at the mouth!)

I agree, everybody gets older, if they are lucky. I've always freely told my age, when I can remember what it is (sometimes I forget!) I'll turn 54 on Monday. Don't ask me my weight, though.

(I was at Ikea yesterday with my niece and her kids, and somehow we ended up doing an impromptu waist-measurement comparison using those paper rulers they have hanging all over the place. Yes, we do strange things in public in my family. This was after we challenged the kids to try and sit on every couch and chair in the store. It's a very good way to work off energy when it's too hot to be outside. I tried out quite a few myself.)

No idea on sweet 16 parties. I know I didn't have one, and Melora didn't, either. I'm sure some girls do though, especially those of more well-to-do families.

I am younger than Betty and older than 'shel

I think the only ones that may have sweet 16's would be the same ones that have debutante balls. last I checked those were few and far apart!
