Licensing issue that prevents Kobo from letting you read it on your desktop. I don't know what the details are on this, but it has been this way since the start.
I personally like reading newspapers on the Kobo. You don't get all the pictures, but other than that I find it very readable. Again that's a personal opinion and it may be different for others. It's nice with the Touch (vs. the wifi) since you don't have to scroll to get to "next article" or "back to article list" buttons (you just press them). Also no advertising at all on the Kobo in the newspapers I've read on it which is a bonus.

Hello, we have identified the problem on the server preventing some of you from receiving your newspaper and magazine subscriptions. It will be fixed soon. Once you start seeing these subscriptions when you sync you'll know it's working correctly.

I appreciate that someone is working on a solution. If it's not too much trouble, are we talking hours, days, or weeks?

I have not yet heard from Kobo customer support, and the magazines and newspapers have not yet appeared on the Kobo Touch. Is anyone in the US able to get magazines/newspapers on the Touch?

I have purchased books from the old Borders store (as well as directly from Kobo, which resulted in an international transaction fee on my credit card), and I remember having a problem when I previewed a book and subsequently purchased it, it would not be available to download. I did preview the magazine subscription that I subsequently purchased and I am wondering if that is part of the problem.

I did ask Kobo support about this when I spoke with them on July 9.

Still waiting... patiently...

It's a server issue that is Borders related. I have no idea who has to fix what to make it all happen.

I'm in Canada and bought my touch 5 days ago. I have periodically been able to update my newspaper subscriptions but not today. Thought it was just me not knowing how to do updates. Hope techs are able to fix the problem soon.

Anyway, I really hope a way to fix this is found soon. I would like to use my free trial period to really see if the mags work well on Kobo.

After several days I cancelled my free trial newspaper as it seems I might never have gotten to download it at all.

I think the Kobo Touch is a promising reader with potential, though it has a lot of issues, mostly minor, that need ironing out as far as firmware goes. However, the Kobo Store is awful. It has a terrible layout, it is difficult to find anything, and newsstand items are not even available if you access the store via the KT.
