I'm very well able to completely ignore anything and everything if I want to read. Even a phonecall (if my phone is actually charged...)

When I get into a story, I tend to ignore everything else. I must know what happens next...Well, unless the story is terrible.

I'm frequently distracted by emails and multitasking needs.

There are usually messages and calls that I cannot ignore, although I sometimes forget to reply to messages until 2 days later.

I do my reading on my iPad, and I normally read for half an hour before taking a break, then I would continue reading. However, during that time, I really concentrate on reading; I have no choice but to answer calls, but for messages, I never reply until I'm done with reading, and sometimes I completely forget to reply! And that goes for every distraction. I'm liable to be grumpy every time I'm interrupted in my reading.

I do everything else during the 5 minute breaks I give myself though. But not angry birds; I find it boring.

So, small question to all of you busy people: if you choose to read a pbook or e ink device, do you turn off phones and computers nearby? will you get fired if you don't reply timely enough?

I don't dare to turn off my phone while reading, just in case an urgent call comes through. And my laptop is never on while I'm using my iPad, except when syncing. But boy do I get pissed when I get interrupted though!

I can ignore almost everything. Except heat. I can't seem to read when I'm hot, sweating and tired. And July is shaping up to be a hot month in LA. And me without air conditioning.

I have lots of ebook readers, but only a couple of multi-app devices, so I tend to wander over to the unique apps rather than the ebook ones. (I picked the Angry Birds poll option. )

My cell phones have never been powered off. Once on, they stay on, even for air travel [flight mode] or private time [silent/vibrate].

Can't help it. Irony is that I hate talking on the phone
