No, no... still the same. I hate to drive cars. I only ride motorcycles, and do that every day of the year. I only took the car license for those 'emergency trips' when my wife can't drive or if I need to carry large heavy things when shopping. I usually put 20 kilo of rice on my bike without any worries, but large flat things, like picture canvas or large flat boxes that can catch the wind when I'm going down the road do better in the car.

Japan is the most anally compulsive culture I have EVER experienced! Every facet of it is governed by extremely strict codes and rules that are NEVER broken or even bent. Fortunately, as a foreigner I'm not expected to live under the rigid code such as my wife must face daily. But when it comes to licensing, even for license to teach origami, flower arranging, or guitar, to say nothing of actually driving a car, everybody has to toe the line, exactly.

I had a fruit smoothie for breakfast. I am working on pot one of Rooibos Capetown at the office with a nice bowl of oatmeal.

I am hoping to make it through the day without being thrown under the bus by my supervisor. It is amazing how she is able to get someone run over even when she is not in the office.
