I needed a second charger for my Kindle so I went ahead and ordered one from Amazon. The shipping is more expensive than the charger

Amazon Kindle EU Power Adapter: $19.99
Shipping & Handling: $20.98

Import Fees Deposit: $10.40
Total for this Order: $51.37

Amazon is charging me > $50 dollar for a freaking charger that probably costs a couple of dollars to produce.

Look at the voltage and amperage of your current charger, or better still, take it with you to the local electronics store and ask them for a similar one. We have one over here that is switchable and comes with interchangeable connections to suit various appliances.

The thing I like with the original Kindle charger is the extremely small form factor. This is a deal breaker for me. I can also use the Kindle charger to charge phones with the same plug (all newer HTC-phones amongst others). So despite the steep price it's worth it.

No, but my rock has never once puked in my slippers! Not once!
Well... OK... once it did stub my toe, but that was my fault for putting it on the ground so it could party with some of its relatives and catch up on family matters. But that was a looooong time ago.

A couple of days ago I had the pleasure of unwinding about 18 inches of ribbon from kitty puke on the hall carpet. And that was after removing poo from the lounge rug the same morning. You have to love them.

Carrying on the same way when visiting in the city gets some strange looks sometimes. I said hello to one woman in the car park and she locked herself in the car.

I have a question, rather than a rant. When is a kitten not a kitten? What I mean to say is, when do they become adults? I want to know so we can start giving them regular food. The kitten food choices are so limited, but it says they should be a year old before giving them the adult stuff.

what?? there are 4 types of chargers, for US (international), UK, Aus and EU?

Japan is only 100V but we can use anything for the US as long as it doesn't generate heat, like a popcorn popper or a hair dryer. A US hair dryer made for 110-120V burns out after a few uses with 100V.
