Heads Up - K4PC v1.6.0 Breaks Tools

Just a heads up. The current version of K4PC version 1.6.0 breaks the 'Tools'. A new version of Tools should be out in a week.

What's new with K4PC version 1.6.0? Anything worth upgrading to?
I think 1.5 just added German support so I skipped it.

The Kindle4PC Version 1.6032771 introduces Collections from the Kindle 3 to the PC. It is a very important upgrade. Plus, it corrects an error in sorting books on Version 1.5

I've had a problem with the Kindle tool for months now. It used to work, and then it stopped. And I do have the automatic update unchecked. Hopefully the new version will fix my problem. Otherwise I'll have to keep doing what I've had to do a lot of lately - buy a book as epub and format it for my Kindle, instead of just getting it from Amazon. A bit of a runaround for me, and loss of revenue for them, but hey.

I don't think a new version will fix it. It sounds like something else is amiss here. Please go to the tools source and post a message describing the problem exactly and we can help work it out. (And avoid version 1.6 for the moment, of course.)

Just curious, what do those of you who have a physical Kindle use K4PC for?

As far as Tools go, if you have a device, you can avoid using K4PC with the tools altogether, and not worry about it breaking anything.

Absolutely, but then I'd figure you'd want to have auto-update enabled...for the challenge.

For me laziness. My kindle is in my room, my comp in the living room. I dont have to get up and go get my kindle lol.

I prefer to keep a copy of my Kindle books on my PC to know what I have so I don't go buying something I got for free or something I own. If I had to log into Amazon each time or turn on my Kindle then go to Archive it would just be too much of a hassle. I only keep 20 books at a time on my Kindle. Not to mention I like the covers and seeing what I own. When I buy a Kindle book I always send it to my PC first otherwise my Kindle would get cluttered and become unmanageable.
