Kobo E-Reader onto Calibre

Hi,

I have 100 e-books already on my kobo device but Calibre does not let me transfer them from my device to my library. How can I fix this?

What did you try? The "normal" way to do this would be to connect the device to Calibre, go to device view, right click on the books you want to transfer and select copy to library.

IIRC the Kobo comes with pre-installed books that are not visible to Calibre.

Yes I tried the process of transfering them from via "Adding to Library". However I get an error message stating that "these files are virtual files and cannot be copied to the library".

Some of them came pre-loading onto the book, but there are some that have been purchased and still come up with that error message

Hm. See itimpi's comment. I wouldn't know of any other explanation.

The original kobo stored kobo books in the sqlite database. Since the change to kepubs I have not updated the driver to export the kepubs.

timlegge,

will you be updating this driver soon? I purchased a book on my Kobo Touch, and when trying to add the book to my calibre library, it shows up as "unknown" and doesn't work.

Help?

What do you mean doesn't work? I imagine Kobo books are restricted by DRM, this would prevent them being viewed by calibre's viewer and since it shows initially as unknown when added I guess the metadata isn't currently able to be read from the book.
