So who else had doughnuts on Donut Day? We baked a pile of chocolate chip cookies on Friday to share with our daughter who drove in for the weekend. Sadly, she didn't eat very many of them. So I'm having to suffer eating the remains. Woe is me.

I'm afraid I missed Donut day again. But I had a Scottish Breakfast on 2nd July, does that count? In fact I've had Scottish breakfast every morning for the last 2 weeks, and I need to go on a diet now.

It certainly involved my stomach, and it's not for the weak! Not for vegetarians either. It involved back bacon (not the same as the American one, less crispy and thicker but very good too), black pudding (a sort of blood sausage, delicious), sausages, eggs, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms. Some of the ingredients varied, the beans were not always there and once I had haggis (which I think is not a normal part of breakfast) and once "fruit pudding" (I think), very thick and heavy but not bad.

Plus of course toast and fruit. And tea.

Ahh well this would explain my ol'grans "Kankles" she would have eaten that everyday I suppose, we did eat a lot of the same things when I was a kid. The bacon I think is likely back bacon, very good and worthy of being blamed for the end of many people, but you only live once and back bacon should be consumed at least a few time in life

I had two (2!) blueberry glazed doughnuts this morning and to top it off I just finished an apple baklava with dinner. Yum!
