Hi i'm testing duokan lite using launchpad on my kindle dxg,
But when i'm running duokan and i connect the kindle to the USB port it starts the Kindle OS automatically it's possible to disable the USB sincronization of the original OS when i'm running duokan to prevent the kindle to swich autonomously to the kindle OS? Thanks |

I think that you should be able to stop this by removing this line from the DK_System/startdk.sh file: Code:
/etc/init.d/framework start Code:
D X = !killall ebook;/etc/init.d/framework start Code:
D X = !killall ebook Last edited by kranu; 07-07-2011 at 11:30 PM. |

FYI. I tried the suggestion by Kranu above. It sort of works. When I connect the Kindle to the USB, the Kindle shows the Duokan USB connect screen. The PC shows the USB drive but I can't seem to write anything to the drive. I was also not able to "safely remove" the drive. My kindle also hung and I had to do a reset. It could be my setup. So in case tries it, this is what I found. ![]() Kind regards, Cheong |

I have the same problem. Only I'm using regular Duokan on Kindle 3 3.1. USB marker spins, and a drive letter appears, but nothing in it is accessible.

actually, this thread has nothing to do with the newly officially introduced product from the Doukan team: Doukan Light.
From the windows user's point of view it would be more clear what the thread is about, if its name would be portable Doukan. |

Compared with the present Read More software, “DUOKAN lite” has newly design of structure plan at functional level, resource deployment of system and functions and interaction of software interface and so on. “DUOKAN lite” still keeps the basic reading functions, considering the expansibility of software. The design of multi-format support and other functions which net-friends concern most will be released in the form of plug-in in the related section regularly. (The first edition of “DUOKAN lite” only support TXT format; other formats will be provided with the regular upgrade.) The main characters are as following: 1. System function: quicker, steadier, less electricity cost 2. User experience: new design of ue and is; concise format and reasonable operation. 3. Product function: book search based on the internet with more resources and more reasonable results. |

you don't have to launch jailbreak first.

just thought I would share the problems I have run into.
My KDXG has firmware 3.2.1 and noinstall version of Duokan (with jailbrake and launchpad installed). I have not done any modification to the system since a couple of months. But for some reason after the last upload of pdf files I can no longer start Duokan. The launchpad sends the message "successful", Doukan boot screen shows up for a couple of seconds and then Kindle just reboots. Interestingly, Kindle does not remember the last page read on the newly loaded pdf files and if I go to the end of file and then use the "Back" button, I get the message "The selected item could not be opened. If you perchased this item from Amazon, delete the item and download it from Archived Items". |
