I tried a new tea tonight.
Gyokuro (full name: Uji Karigane Gyokuro "Asa-Giri") Two infusions. A brewing instruction: Quote:
10gr??? Even my huge tea strainer would explode. The tea expands quite a lot. I put 2 heaped tea spoons. 58°C 1.5min 300ml ![]() It didn't impress me. The last sip was sweet, the one with a bit of tea dust from the bottom of the cup ![]() Second infusion was 2min The flavour was very similar to Sencha Uji. I might try 4 heaped tsps one day if I am in a right mood. I think it will be only 5-6 grams. Fate willing see you tomorrow. Have many cups and glasses of nice drinks ![]() Till then ![]() |

![]() One man's temper might rise, while the other man's temper might freeze. In the days of long confessions, we can not mock a soul When there's too much of nothin', no one has control. Say hello to Valerie, say hello to Marion, Send them all my salary, on the waters of oblivion. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCpZt9cfLKg ) Good morning, everyone. Happy Sunday! Quiet morning with a mug of Taylors of Harrogate's 'Yorkshire tea' and a bowl of rice... Good day to read a book! Quote:
Right now Korea is fighting with Japan over kimchee... The Japanese have been making it, but instead of natural fermentation they have been adding citric and ascorbic acid to 'sour' it up. The Korean business leaders are suing the Japanese, say that they can't call it 'Kimchee' because it's not real! Actually, you CAN taste the difference. Quote:

Three pages of this thread is too much to try to do multiquote on, so I'll do it this way.
Iri: Love the clothes, and I love leggings. I'm not the perfect shape but my legs are nice (according to Chris anyway), and I love leggings with long tunics or tops like you describe. I think we do need a "wardrobe" thread - and I bet you wouldn't be the only one posting. I almost bought a new outfit today - brown embroidered shorts (long shorts, almost capris), with a matching embroidered peasant style top. I managed to resist though - not a good week budget-wise for new clothes buying here. Everyone else: Still limited soda for me, drinking LOTS of tea and lemonade. |

I guess when we go to London in the end of summer we might visit some shops (if we find any) they have the real thing. Last edited by astra; 07-03-2011 at 05:27 AM. |

You can make kimchee from any veggies. No reason not to use seaweed. Kelp, kombu, nori,.... lots of different types of seaweed. My own favorites are cabbage or daikon, especially when I get them from a Korean shop. Osaka has a large Korean population so there is a 'Korea Town' area in Osaka with lots of different home-made kimchee for sale. Stitchawl |
