Are you going to get rid of your pBook editions? I'm not sure I "count" conversion costs... It's not like they are "new" books that you didn't need... you're lightening the load so that you can be a free spirit...!

This is turning into a "find new (innovative) ways to give in to addiction" thread rather than a support group for habit-kickers. Tsk, tsk!

When this kind of thing happens, you must try to remember that the books will still be for sale tomorrow. And they'll still be for sale next week. And sometime over the next year, they may well be on sale at a much lower price.

So just add them to your Amazon wish list, and wait. You've read them already in pbook form. There's no urgent need to have them as ebooks. And you have lots of nice books on your TBR pile/folder that you haven't read before, and that you'll enjoy reading just as much or more as re-reading an old favourite.

If you want to encourage others to buy the books of your favourite author, take a few minutes to download the sample (to check the formatting), and then write a review of the book at Amazon. That will be of as much or more benefit to the author than your single purchase.

Most importantly: if you're tempted to buy ebooks while you still have a large TBR pile, just come on Mobileread, and get support in resisting the temptation in this thread. We're here to help.

It has now been 26 days since I last bought an ebook. My TBR pile has just got under 425. I don't need to buy more ebooks. That's what I keep telling myself.

I bought the first book of each series I mentioned - to read & check the formatting/editing this (for us Yanks) long holiday weekend .... if these are well done ebooks, a tsunami of purchasing may very well follow.

Hey - it's a holiday here! Does that entitle me to celebrate by buying ebooks?

And ... I'm planning on reading them both this weekend? So they don't count? Right?

sorry, I can't stop buying ebooks. When I finish one, I need to move on to the next.

No-one's suggesting that you should stop buying ebooks if you don't already have lots waiting to be read.

Nothing Unfortunate about MY incident of buying ... but I am sensing a growing wave of jealousy at my insouciance towards the petty tyranny of rigid rules promulgated here.

I managed not to buy "Song of Sorcery" after a rather nice review by ATDrake in another thread, even though it's at fictionwise with a 60% off coupon this weekend.

Now that's will-power!*

* The fact I had already bought it in May during the last 60% off coupon (along with 102 other ebooks) had nothing to do with it!
