Hmmmm....some of those offers still are open in the sense the deadline to purchase is in July or August, but those of us that have newer kindles haven't gotten them yet (like the lighted cover or MP3 album for $1). I wonder if we'll get those at some point? I'd like some of them.

I just got the video game one and the visa book offer. I might use the Visa book offer, but not the video game one.

You'll get the book "by" the end date (aug 21 in this case) and it works on anything sold by amazon (not on agency title kindle books, but it does on non-agency books).

There are a few hundred thousand non-agency books.

plus real books, food, camping equipment, etc ... anything with "amazon" as the seller worked last time and it appears to be the same for this one.

Sounds like I may be able to find something then, at least with the "amazon" as a seller, but the vast majority of books I read are agency books.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I apologize if this questions has been answered already. Why has Amazon created this two-tiered class of Kindle customers? Those who bought their kindles (like me) before the SO kindle came out feel a little short changed.

Some of these offers seem very attractive. $10 for a $20 gift card, that's a no-brainer. But because I supported the product earlier than some, I'm not eligible. Seems like Amazon could have an opt-in feature for folks like me.

I agree with you. Amazon should allow non-KSO owners the ability to download the ads and special offers. After all, that's the ONLY thing that separates the two Kindle versions.

Don't get too dismayed. I returned my Kindle for a KSO after looking at the original offers and I found that only one of the new offers had any value at all. And I don't expect them to repeat the $20 card offer any time soon. I didn't even benefit from the $25 price savings. I would expect that most of the stuff that comes from here on out will be small savings of large mark up items, and of course, the constant Oil of Olay and Buick and Visa ads which I delete.

Had I to do over, I would never have swapped.

Amazon has already repeated two of the offers, so I'm sure they'll continue to do so. Which ones, I have no idea; but I think book related and digital content would be likely candidates.

This is a YMMV type of thing. I'm about to go over $250 in savings on items I already planned to get at full price. That's enough to buy two KSOs.

I'm at well over a thousand (I have been looking at and pricing 3D HDTV's for several months and then the ones I was looking at were all on the 20% off coupon, plus had a number of freebies that came with them - by waiting out the price jumps at Amazon, I grabbed the one I wanted while it was $250 below usual and cheaper by far than locally). If I had wanted some of the odder ones recently, I could no doubt have added a couple hundred more.

If you only do the audio and kindle books, you should be at $150 or more by now (for early adopters), assuming you either already had an Amazon Visa or could not (or would not) apply for the new one with $100 back.
