Apparently Bookeen's phone number is not under their name. The number I did have is not being answered.

Anyone else have any luck?
What did you use for your FedEX tracking ?

And where did you get your shipping date from ?

If something goes wrong, I go right back into the store. Granted, I'm in the US, but for me the Sony is the only eInk-based ebook I can actually purchase through a "normal" buying experience. Plus, it's significantly less expensive than the Cybook and the Kindle.
If it were almost any other actual company than Sony, I'd agree.
How can you disagree? The 505 is the only eink based reader that one can purchase in an actual shop.

That's not entirely true - there are a number of retail outlets in which one can buy an iLiad. Not many, to be sure, but there are some. I bought my iLiad, for example, from the UK retailer.

I ordered my Cybook back in February and the shipping confirmation actually came from FedEx (TrackingUpdates@fedex.com) and not Bookeen. FedEx generates these as soon as they get the shipping info from the sender, so if you haven't gotten an e-mail from Fedex, Bookeen probably hasn't scheduled the shipment yet.

I ordered mine on a Saturday and received the shipping confirmation the next Tuesday. They do send shipments to the US via Priority, so once you get the confirmation, you can expect to have the unit in your hand within a day or two. I'm in Virginia and the Cybook was delivered the day after Bookeen shipped it.

It is frustrating trying to reach Bookeen's customer support. They forgot to include the cover I ordered for my Cybook and it took about 2 weeks to get it. It took them about 3 days to respond to my e-mails each time I e-mailed them. However, they are polite when they do respond and did send the cover out FedEx Priority, which I didn't expect since they had to pay for the shipping.

I think they could save themselves some grief if they would set up an e-mail autoresponder so at least you know they got your e-mail.

If you have the account number that is on the FedEX label, one can use that along with country and zip code to find shipments. Its NOT exact but al least you have some idea of the shipping date.

I received an email:

Dear Sir,

Our support team has welcomed new member and is trying to catch up on delayed emails. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Your Cybook should ship tomorrow.
You will receive a tracking notification from Fedex when you order ships.

Regards,
Bookeen Support Team

My order was 1245X and was placed on March 7, 2008. We'll see what happens next.

I believe there is also a brick and mortar shop in Australia selling iLiad's.

Many people have had their Gen3 just turn up on their doorstep "out of the blue", Geoff, due to their spam filter (or whatever) having eaten the FedEx shipping notification. Perhaps you'll be one of those!

They seem to ship machines in "batches", so if you ordered a day earlier than the previous poster, the likelyhood is that your machines will ship in the same batch. Have you checked your order on the Bookeen web site to see if any shipping date is shown there?

I used my name, address as provided to Bookeen to go into Alternate shipment tracking.
No shipment had been made.

The dates were provided in an email by Bookeen as a shipping window.

I finally received a response a few minutes ago:

Hi Harry ,
I drop in to the Bookeen site , and my account , daily to check if there is any movement - to no avail .
Given the amount of junk / spam that gets into my inbox on a daily basis - I doubt anything gets stopped .. ( but I'm prepared to be surprised ) .

I have , just this minute , 18:38 25 March received this from info@bookeen.com

" Bookeen.com: Previous order details email

This email is not an order confirmation. It is provided as information on a previous order. "

And then lists my order details - with no further info ! ?

For what its worth my order was on the 16 March and is order number 1322X...

which does not bode well for a delivery any time soon since some orders from the beginning of the month have not been fulfilled either...

must...be...patient....
