It was doubly so for Mr. Lucas since he was able to see what was coming when the studio wasn't and handed over what he wanted without much (if any)trouble. They probably figured, "he'll throw some money at merchandizing and lose it, nothing for us to be concerned over." Star Wars has been good to him. lol.

I quoted the article and it says book two will go live in early 2012. To me, that means the website content. eBooks don't actually go live. They go on sale.

I love the way O'Reilly does their ebooks. I don't understand the opposition to it.

Forget the article, go right to the source, the press release for the Pottermore site. "The storyline of the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, will go live on the site in early 2012. The Pottermore Shop opens when the site opens to all in October, selling complete ranges of the eBooks and digital audiobooks in a selection of languages, exclusively." If you watch the YouTube announcement she states the same thing. All the eBooks and audiobooks will be available for purchase in October through the Pottermore Shop. The reference to the second book, Chamber of Secrets, refers only to the online content.

On topic: I'm also interested in the "digital audiobooks". I wonder if they are the digitized version of the CD versions. And if so, how they'll be offered. (anybody who hasn't heard the Stephen Fry version, you should, it's awesome!)

But I'm too attached to the hp books to have them spoiled with "licensed to EowynCarter" even once.

(Of course, I now also send them through Calibre before reading, because they work faster afterwards, so maybe Calibre removes it?)

I agree the Fry versions are great (although the Dale ones aren't bad either).
