The way I see it, if you have a reader and don't rally need a new one, wait and see what happens. I would wait and see what Sony does. If Sony does it right, they could really have a big hit on their hands.

If you have an x50 Sony, then the ADE is fine. But maybe if Sony comes out with an HP themed Reader with all the HP books loaded, you can maybe get that if you don't have an x50 Sony.

Oh, how I would love an HP themed Sony reader with the HP loaded on it! With an 8-inch screen! And an HP cover! Oh my!

Has anyone seen anything about these not all being released at the same time? I saw an article or blog post yesterday that said only book one would be out in October and that book two would be out in early 2012, but now I can't find it.

Yes, that would be nice and if it was say $300 with all the HP eBook loaded, it would sell.

I saw the same article, and I hope it turns out not to be true. It seems really silly considering that all of the books have been out for years. I would imagine that most customers who are interested in them, would want them all, and would prefer to buy the entire set in a bundle. Forcing people to shell out for them one by one over several months would only serve to annoy customers, and drive them back to the darknet where they can get exactly what they want. This is nonsense. Indeed, it is almost insulting.

That refers to site content, not the ebooks. This year, the Pottermore site would contain extra content from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 2012 Chamber of Secrets and so on. The ebooks would all be available at the same time in October.

I hope so, though that is not what the article says. Take a look at the article cited by a previous poster. | |

I hope they do release them at once and they sell very well and everyone starts posting about what the rest of Harry's life would be like again and it inspires J.K. and... *takes a deep breath* then again, maybe this Pottermore project will get her writing once more. Anybody seen any indications of what sort of thingy it will be? Legends of Zork-isk, Uru-esque, Discworld text-verse, or SecondLife-like? |
