If this is true, it'll be interesting to see if everyone here who's claimed that they would have bought the eBooks had they been legally available now does so.

Not to start flaming, but Kindle is not the only eReader with 3G/WiFi.

It's certainly the only one widely available in the UK, where Ms. Rowling lives.

May I amend my statement to say that I will buy the eBooks if they aren't embedded with a shady digital watermark that may or may not represent a personal security risk?

I don't have 'em on eBook period, legally or no, but I'm not going to buy from Pottermore (or Sony) without more indication than currently available that my CC# will be safe with them.

Huh. Here I thought we had UK MRs that sometimes had eReaders shipped to them or traveled outside the country to get them. But Ms. Rowling prolly doesn't travel much.

If she has a Kindle and her PR team is announcing that ePub can be read by every device ever, that makes it even more amusing in my book.

We do. But for "normal" people, as opposed to eBook fans like us, the Kindle is likely to be the only reader one encounters in the UK which has WiFi or 3G. Plus the fact it's sold in so many different places now, such as Tesco supermarkets.

Why Pottermore, I wonder? It's such an odd name. Potterverse would make more sense to me. Am I the only one who thinks the name isn't easy to say ten time fast?

Would be just the boost Sony would need at least here state side. kids and adults gobble up everything and anything HPotter.

Now if Sony could get their heads out of their $#%%# about pricing then this could be something for them. Though it would be a specific target market though. But exposure is exposure.

clearly its because they didnt consult you , as with everything else they've done obviously wrong that you can know about by reading supposition on the internet.
